is well rested with a back that is working thanks to an incredible massage therapist. It's funny how much I can take the basics (like walking) for granted.

Feeling thankful for many things today. My working back is at the top of the list.

just finished a superb massage. My neck feels amazing and my back....
well it feels a lot better. Apparently the back will be a work in progress.

It seems that I've been carrying a wee bit too much stress. Go figure.

To our friends in South Sudan-

Congratulations on your Independence and new status as the newest nation in the world.
In Focus from The Atlantic originally shared:

South Sudan: The Newest Nation in the World - 35 photos - http://theatln.tc/p3jfB9 - Last Saturday, the Republic of South Sudan declared its independence, creating the newest nation in the world -- the 193rd nation to join the United Nations. The new country has been in the making since a referendum last January, when nearly 4 million southern Sudanese voted to secede from Sudan by a margin of more than 98 percent. The region has been involved in civil wars for at least the past 50 years, and the days-old nation is already battling several armed groups within its new borders. Many issues still remain unresolved -- the oil-rich region continues to rely on pipelines that run through Sudan, and a revenue-sharing agreement has not been reached.

Our good friend and recent FUMA alumnus, Gideon Mabeny, is traveling to his home in Sudan to reconnect with family. We continue to pray for his safe travels there and hope for the best in that region in the days to come.

If we took Monday off the books, I guess Tuesday would stink ~ so I say take Thursday off the books so we can get to the weekend a little sooner.

"But I also want to say that I have seen enough website disasters that were made in the name of "branding" that I think more real estate professionals would be better served if they approached branding in a deeper way or ignored it altogether.

Facebook's clean, simple template made Myspace look garish and amateurish immediately." ~ Gahlord Dewald, Inman News

As we IMPATIENTLY await our new websites with clean designs, I read this with extreme interest.

(Convenience Store Nerd Rings in) 7-Eleven was always a kind of regional type operation. The Regions were hand picked by the Thompsons (founders); Washington D.C. and Richmond being two of the first outside their native Texas. They really didn't start a Nationwide movement until the Thompsons began franchising. The franchises were focused outside of the corporate Regions so they would not compete with each other.

Then, in the late 70's and early 80's they began to sell off corporate regions to franchisees. Richmond, Roanoke, Southwest Virginia, Hampton Roads and most of Tidewater remained one of the sole corporate outposts outside Dallas until about 6 years ago which is why we retained the 7-Eleven "feel" and "brand." Now most of those stores have been franchised and the rest are in transition and we are beginning to experience the "stereotype" here.

I am not a 7-Eleven Savant, Stan started work with them as an auditor when he was 18 (1969). He moved all the way through the ranks, Store Manager, District Manager all the way to Zone Manager for Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Newport News, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Tidewater, Williamsburg all down in there. He left in the early 80's because of the changes being made in the corporate structure.
