Mercy Housing and Shelter was 1 of 56 nonprofit organizations to be awarded grants from The Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) today.  This $25,000 grant award will fund the meal programs at  Mercy’s transitional living program (St. Elizabeth House) and day shelter (The Friendship Center).  Since 2003, CHEFA has awarded more than $26 million in grants to Connecticut nonprofits.
