tl;dr: Select3 now supports submenus . Do you know the feeling when you've built some awesome code that's super-flexible and extensible and everything, opening endless possibilities and unimaginable scenarios, only to realize in hindsight that all this over...

How to speed up resource loading when using Require.js
If you're building a single-page AJAX application using Require.js, odds are your boot sequence for loading the application on production looks something like this: First, your index.html gets loaded. At the head of your index.html you link CSS resources wh...

CVE-2014-9390 aka "Git on case-insensitive filesystems"

I did not give the exact assessment on the risk in either my blog post on this topic (http://git-blame.blogspot.com/2014/12/git-1856-195-205-214-and-221-and.html) or the announcement for the maintenance release to fix this issue (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel/1853266).

Somebody at Atlassian summarised it very well. It says:

"""An attacker needs write access to a repository in order to push the malicious changes in the first place. The actual risk for most teams' repositories is relatively low, as there is typically a high level of trust between those who have the necessary permissions to write to a repository.

However, all developers should exercise caution when pulling from third party or untrusted repositories until they upgrade to a patched version of Git."""

It is a short and well written post, worth a read:
https://developer.atlassian.com/blog/2014/12/securing-your-git-server/
We have a set of urgent maintenance releases. Please update your Git if you are on Windows or Mac OS X. Git maintains various meta-information for its repository in files in .git/ directory located at the root of the working ...

C.I. Joe 0.0.1 "The Germ" released
For a little while, I've been working on a side project called C.I. Joe, and today I'm ready to announce it's very first alpha release, codenamed "The Germ". This release is marked more by what it doesn't do than what it actually does do. So, to avoid any f...
