Thank you. 5K times.

With over 1.63K downloads on #iTunes and 3.5K on #Amazon, numerous reviews on stores as well as by a few well-known blogs around the world, including #Mashable, “A Day with The Woz” celebrates its 1st anniversary today.

The Buzz:
“Geek meets ubergeek” by James Smith:

Sure, this is a puff piece, but it's free, it's fun, and I wish it had happened to me.

Waseef Akhtar, a geeky kid from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, of all places, meets Steve Wozniak and gets to talk with him for a few hours. The Woz is as gracious and gentle as his reputation would lead you to expect. He even gives Waseef his business card with his personal phone number on it -- in binary, of course. You have to admire somebody who could step away from the Steve Jobs reality distortion field and lead a sane life instead.

God willing, may Waseef be as fortunate.

Caroline B. Cooney’s Children Fiction book, Night School, has picked out my photo (http://buff.ly/1mkRHfM) as its cover art.

The children fiction is about four kids, each with their own individual problems and desires, write their names on the sheet and signs up for a class. These students discover whether the night class is a place where dreams come true—or where nightmares are made real. This ebook features an illustrated biography of Caroline B. Cooney including rare images and never-before-seen documents from the author’s personal collection.

My photo (http://buff.ly/M3NBYA) makes it to the cover of Charles Cilliers’ short storybook, A Grain of Sand.

About the book:
‘On the door was a note. It said: Your mother-in-law will die on 13 December at 13:22.’ Anthony Graves returns from the Nobel Prize ceremony wealthy, praised and famous to find the chilling prediction. Graves’s prize-winning work, it seems, has been put to use by a master programmer who is using it to do more than see into the future. A fast-paced read with a surprising twist. Be prepared for serious, fast entertainment.

My photo (http://buff.ly/1nDqAb8) makes it up as the cover of Dave Renol’s novel, Blood Magic (The Science of Psionics) - Book II.
You'd never guess that Dave was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, eh. He's traveled a fair bit, but then a North Carolina gal caught his eye. Really he just wanted to get away from snow, but then a rescue Plott Hound wound him around her paw and that was it.

Happy Birthday, Mac. - http://500px.com/photo/58865222

In 1984, #Apple introduced the world to #Macintosh.

It was designed to be so easy to use that people could actually use it.

And it came with a promise — that the power of technology taken from a few and put in the hands of everyone, could change the world.

That promise has been kept.

Today, we create, connect, share, and learn in ways that were unimaginable 30 years ago.

Imagine what we can accomplish in the next 30 years.

Introduction

Waseef Akhtar is a freelance photographer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has worked with a few companies as a part-time photographer. Photography is his passion and he aims to pursue it until he has pushed the boundaries of his ability. He has been interested in photography for many years, but only began taking this hobby seriously in 2008. He is constantly trying to ameliorate his skills and evolve as a photographer.

Hailing from the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar, Waseef was born in 1993 in Riyadh. Having always had a thing for art, he excelled at it in school. He won a multitude of drawing competitions and was applauded for his gift by friends and family alike. As a child he was encouraged to show his work to the world and to try to promote change. In 2007, at the age of fourteen, he got his very own, first point-and-shoot camera. Soon he discovered Flickr, a photo-sharing website, and being opened to a virtual museum of images taken by photographers all over the world, his ardor for photography just grew more intense. Thus, he was inspired to capture whatever he found interesting, shared it with the Flickr community, and got to learn a lot.

By mid – 2008, he got the opportunity to work as a part-time photographer for a beauty products' company. Since then he always tried to take pictures that were unique and stood out. He has since upgraded to a DSLR camera and continues to be an avid reader of many online articles, tutorials, photography magazines, and is still learning from every moment of his life.
