I'm 98% this will turn out to be my fault, but the keyboard is squashed all the way to the left. I've tried changing every setting I can find but while the keyboard size slider affects how small it is -- at 100% if fills up half of the left side -- nothing seems to work, including restarting my Android phone. Am I doing something wrong? (screenshot attached) Thanks.

After 15 years after Cluetrain, (16 if you have the math), +Doc Searls and I have posted New Clues. In 1999 we were driven to post (along with +Christopher Locke and +Rick Levine ) because the media and businss were getting the Web so wrong. This time it's as a response to the somber-to-depressed mood even among Net optimists.

We've done this as an open source publishing project: it's in the public domain and we've posted the clues at GitHub in application-friendly formats, including JSON, XML, and OPML. We're thrilled that +Dave Winer has already created a "listicle" version. And Medium has taken all the text, redesigned it, slapped on a new title, and posted it.

Curious to know what you think of it.

For me, Markdown is the biggest step forward in solo word processing in years. ("Solo" because online realtime  co-writing tools are an awesome breakthrough.) It lets me use a responsive editor and output to HTML. I've given up on Word because, even though I've been using it since DOS, I simply cannot control its output sufficiently. With HTML, I can edit the code if I don't like how my Markdown has been rendered.

I've now spent too many hours trying to figure out how to do the HTML-CSS thing where the top element is a photo that stretches across the entire window -- that's the part I know how to do -- and that resizes as the window resizes EVEN WHEN the window is wider than the image size. It's that last bit that has me stumped.

E.g., if the image is 1024px wide, it all scales fine so long as the window is 1024 or less. But if the user stretches the window beyond that, the image stops resizing, leaving white space on the right. How the heck do you avoid that?

Anyone know? Thanks
