Innkeeper Sandy recently took the couple hours drive from Bend to the Painted Hills--one of the #sevenwondersoforegon. Part of the John Day Fossil Beds, the Painted Hills get their colors from the stratifications in the soil. Hues change based on light and moisture levels, and are best seen in the late afternoon. Absolutely perfect! Hands down, the best in the area. It's across the street from the lush river and park and a very short walk to the quaint, downtown Bend area. The1910 house is immaculately kept and beautifully decorated, with all the modern conveniences. It's comfortable and welcoming. We stayed in the suite on the 3rd floor, which was fantastic. The beds are very comfortable, and all the amenities and details are carefully attended to. There is always coffee, water, tea, and cookies to be enjoyed, as well as a wine and cheese hour in the early evening out on the deck and, of course, a wonderful and delicious breakfast. The hosts are very accommodating, helpful and friendly. We recommend it without hesitation and definitely plan to return.

The Lara House was the perfect weekend getaway. The location was ideal, it's just a short walk to the river and many restaurants, shops, and breweries. The staff is friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The food was incredible and there were free cookies. The room was immaculate and comfortable. I can't wait to go back!

We went here for our Honeymoon: The owners and staff we're extremely friendly! I highly recommend The Summit room for your stay (especially for a romantic getaway;) The breakfast was delicious, the bed was comfy, and the view was beautiful! What more can I say? It was even located close to the downtown area and drake park, however secluded enough to still be private!

Lara house is a wonderful place to stay. The location is perfect. It's right across the street from Drake park and a very short walk to downtown. Relaxing on the front porch while enjoying the wine and beer hour was a highlight of the whole trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and luxurious. The breakfast was delicious and they were happy to accommodate requests for a vegetarian meal. I'll certainly be back next time I'm in Bend!

My partner and I stayed in the Bachelor room, it was very elegant and romantic. Breakfast was delicious and filling... kept us going all day! Complimentary beer and wine hour was a delight. Service was also phenomenal and the location of the inn was just a short walk from down town and across the street from the Deschutes river. We will definitely come again!
