Bachstelzenweg elf, Berlin, Dahlem, Germany. 15 September 1946 Dear Family: It’s a rather boisterous day, starting with more than a hint of rain in the air, passing through a beautifully photogenic phase with deep blue sky broken by perfect cumulus…

One person's drudgery is another person's giddy joy. Oh, how I love logic puzzles!

Bachstelzenweg 11, Berlin, Dahlem. 8 September 1946 Dear Family: A gray Sunday – but the best weekend weather we have had for a number of weeks, for at least it isn’t raining. I’m not sure when I last wrote to you, but I believe I sent you my circular…

Bachstelzenweg 11, Dahlem, Berlin, Germany. 29 August 1946. Dear Family: I think it’s been about a week since I wrote to you last – at any rate I have the present circular letter to enclose, so will add a line or two on the covering sheet. The week has…

Looking through my 1000+ articles saved to Pocket, I've amassed quite the collection of disparate things to read. I'll be sharing them with you on a semi-regular basis.

I've been seeing Dr. Kelly for over a decade. When I moved to the area in the early 2000s, I needed to find a new dentist. My mom was already seeing Dr. Kelly, and had already had fantastic experiences. My mom has some teeth that hadn't responded to past root canals well, but Dr. Kelly was the first person to be able to fix them and take away her pain. In the ensuing decade-plus that I've been seeing him, he's taken great care of my teeth. A few crowns, a number of fillings, and a lot of lessons later, I haven't had a filling in years, and he helps me stay on top of my gum care, oral care, and teeth care. Of course, I'm also diligent in my daily oral hygiene regimen, and I go in for a cleaning every six months. But Dr. Kelly is a great partner in my care, and I wouldn't change dentists for the world. Except to Dr. Seth once Dr. Kelly retires! Also, the front office staff has always been incredibly friendly, reliable, professional, and fun. They have been so supportive of our dental care, and are a big part of our excellent opinion of the office in general.
