A co-worker stopped by the house to give me tickets and free parking to the Dodger game today. Me and my nephew are going to have some fun together.

I went to America's Tire to check on what it would cost to replace the front left tire that had been damaged by a pothole. I ended up paying $320 for one run flat tire and the damaged tire was replaced at no charge.

There were a few things about America's Tire that disappointed me.  First thing was that neither store I went to had a single tire in stock for the Mini Cooper. Fortunately, the Simi Valley location had 2 of the 4 tires I needed that were special ordered for another customer who never picked them up.

After returning to the lot and checking my car I quickly noticed that there was shipping tape on the tires that were replaced. I began to peel way some of it and then I checked the other side and I noticed "tire paste" slopped around the tire.  Apparently, the tire paste seeps out from between the tire and the rim and gets all over the tire. I don't believe it.  One of my first jobs was working for Montgomery Wards Automotive and we never even had to use "tire paste" and if we did use any thing we would wipe the tire down to remove the excess.

I went inside and got the keys from Stuart and I pointed out the things I noticed and I also mentioned that they could have wiped down the rim but there was another excuse. He said that wiping down the rim might cause damage so they don't do it. o_O I guess if you want to be in the tire business I would recommend that you know how to properly clean a rim which is a no brainer.

He didn't seem very apologetic but he offered to have them wipe the tires down but I was already too embarrassed to have them do it. I told him I would clean it myself at home. I did tell him that I still enjoy coming to America's Tire because they do treat my family well.

Last thing. I got into my car and I began to drive away. As I got on to the freeway I noticed that the pen I had placed in the cup holder up front was gone. I couldn't believe it that an employee at America's Tire stole my pen.  I placed an order for 2 rear tires that are considered special order so I have to pay extra so when i go in I'm going to give them a piece of my mind. #review

I hit a large pothole. Fortunately, I have road hazard coverage and the tread wear was just above the limit, so the tire was replaced for free. I paid for the other tire and I have the other 2 Pirelli  P Zero run flats on order.
