Sarah Cortez and Hipolito Acosta celebrate the launch of their new books at River Oaks Bookstore, 3270 Westheimer, Houston, 77019.

Sarah's new book, "Tired, Hungry, Standing in One Spot for Twelve Hours: Essential Cop Essays" (Texas Review Press, 2018) speaks frankly and lovingly about her 20 years in law enforcement.

Poli's newest, "Deep in the Shadows: Undercover in the Ruthless World of Human Smuggling" (Arte Público Press, 2017) recounts his inspiring stories of 30 years undercover work for the U.S. Border Patrol.
