I enjoyed watching the replay of the session yesterday about consistency and quality. It seems family life has kept me from seeing the live broadcast. I feel like I heard many good ideas, enjoyed the discussions and the questions and answers. As you said, I do have ideas just watching that come to me momentarily. So it is making me think how to proceed. I have taken copious notes when a comment made an impression. Since I have been working over 40 years in a traditional manner with oil, pastel and acrylic and explored a variety of subjects, I always come back to the traditional landscape. But I want to update my vision to a little more contemporary. These discussions will go a long way to helping me make sure I just evolve with a little experimentation and exploration to see if it is really what I want to do. Is it me? Will I be passionate and excited about what I find on that path. So, for that, I am very appreciative! Here are a couple of recent paintings that were a little more exploration than normal because I am detail oriented, and try hard to stop a little sooner, and also choice of color that is not neccessarily the "local" color, but more emotive! These are both pastels, but I am trying the same thing in my oils.

Rocks Are Fun To Paint!
River Run, Pastel 20"x16" Painting with pastels is so much fun with rocks. You get to choose a stick of pastel and make a beautiful angular shaped stroke... and that first stroke just looks like a rock! How cool is that? Use that broad side of the pastel st...

Why change an older painting?
Peace In the Valley, Oil 36"x48" painted in 2011 Sometimes we paint a piece of artwork that we love most aspects of, and decide it is a finished piece. I am a firm believer that paintings are really never finished, we just decide it is the best we can do at...

I enjoyed the talk on networking. I made many notes, but most of them areĀ  things I have heard from both of you before, but felt writing them down emphasized some of the things I have been letting slip in the last year or two. Thanks again! BTW, I have a book from both of you and have been following and listening to you both for several years.
