The School of Music at Kennesaw State University
Introduction
Welcome to the Kennesaw State University School of Music!

At its core, the School of Music is comprised of over 200 incredibly vibrant, creative, and talented music majors and 80 professional faculty and staff devoted to the development of music education, performance, and scholarship within our community. The School of Music boasts state-of-the-art facilities and presents exciting opportunities for students to produce and study music in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting that is ahead of the curve among its peers and true to what it means to be a musician in the 21st century. Our students come from the leading musical honor organizations across the region and are poised to lead the cultural offerings and musical education in our area and beyond for years to come.

Each year, the School of Music produces more than 150 concerts, many of which are free of charge, and serves approximately 20,000 patrons. The School is home to over 200 exceptional music majors who immerse themselves in musical study and hundreds more that participate in performance ensembles and classes offered to all KSU students. School of Music ensembles and faculty performers have received national and international recognition and consistently collaborate with arts organizations across the region. After their time at KSU, many of our students go on to study at top graduate programs across the country.

Home to the Kennesaw State University School of Music, the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center hosts over 150 performances each year in addition to rehearsals, seminars, recording sessions, and master classes for KSU music students and faculty. Each season, the Bailey Center hosts the Guest Artist Series, the flagship concert series of the KSU School of Music. Consistently showcasing the finest performers of our time, the Guest Artist Series aims to support the academic mission of the School of Music by allowing students special access to interact with world-class artists in a setting inclusive of both artistic and educational opportunities.

“The Bailey Center is simply a gorgeous instrument – as any musician relishes the unlimited scope of a special instrument, so any performing ensemble will celebrate the warm and vibrant acoustic and atmosphere this exciting new hall affords.”
- Donald Runnicles, Principal Guest Conductor, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
