Absolutely fantastic. Great staff, drinks and food. Fresh fish, fresh ingredients. Amazing.

After all the great reviews and recommendations we decided to check out Ethels. My husband and I were very dissappointed. First off, I asked if their meatballs were made by them or were frozen. She said they were not made by them. What kind of good Italian place doesn't even make their own meatballs... We both ordered different types of Mac and cheese since we showed up on mac and cheese night apparently. I ordered the troller mac (white fish and tomatoes) and my husband ordered the apple sausage mac. There was maybe a half filet of whitefish tops in my dish and four little tiny pieces of diced tomato. For $13. Ridiculous. My husband did not like his dish either. So, $30 after tip for Mac and cheese. Won't be back.

Ethel's is simply delicious! Order anything and everything on the won't be disappointed. The craft every dinner with care and thought. The specials each day are unique and exquisite. We had the mushroom pesto pizza (which they can make gluten free along with many of their other pizzas, pastas and dishes) as an appetizer, which was so delicious, we went back at the end of our trip to buy a few to eat on the road (cold the next day--still awesome). We then had the fresh fish catch of the day, and we also tried their salads and a beef dish. Sally and Bill are the husband/wife team, and they see to your needs and wants! The quaint bar area is stocked just enough, complete with rotating selections of beer on tap. The decor and ambiance sew up the experience as one worth repeating. The only drawback? Not open for lunch! I could have eaten three more meals during our stay there, if we could have gotten lunch. :-)

Call ahead for reservations on busy nights. They have beepers so you can put your name in and then explore downtown Bayfield. We had a short wait and the food came quickly. It was tasty but not excellent. Wait staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall a nice little place in downtown Bayfield.

Called ahead and reserved a table. Had to wait a short while for the table after we arrived, but it was not a big deal It took quite a long time to order food and receive our food. My wife had a chicken-garlic pasta penne, and I had the lobster ravioli. The ravioli was quite good and so was my wife's pasta, but there was very little chicken in the dish. I would return.

I recommend getting Ethel's to go because it is generally crowded and you can get a free beer, breakstick, ect. The best deal is to get the two pizzas. It is really the only way to go. The Mac and Cheese is great too. And if you are in town for Lasagna night you have to stop in.

A beautiful evening on their new covered deck with wonderful service. The signature "Bayfield Special" pizza is good, except the apples are not the best compliment. The ravioli was a paste filling, would be better if there was a bit more texture to the filling, the pasta was good but too adente. This is one of the better restaurants in Bayfield, a bit up the hill and at the edge of the hustle bustle. They are only open evenings and could probably do a great lunch if they want.
