Incredible dinner. I had the Pesto Pasta Whitefish and my wife chose the Spaghetti and Meatballs. Both dishes were excellent. The meatballs were delicious and the whitefish was fresh and perfectly seasoned and cooked. We both preceded our meal with a Organic Greens Salad. The ingredients in the salad were so fresh they tasted as if they had been harvested that morning. The Apple Vinaigrette dressing complimented the greens well and, while I usually set aside croutons, the cheddar croutons were delicious. Service was a little slow for a moderately busy Friday night but friendly. Given the fresh ingredients, taste and quality of the menu items you would expect to spend more for your meal. You will not. It is a reasonably priced, clean, unpretentious restaurant in beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin. I highly recommend you call ahead to take advantage of their priority seating. And be sure to stop at the Candy Shoppe for a waffle cone on your way back to your boat or hotel room.

Great atmosphere, the surf and turf was very good, fresh whitefish and premium deserts. The owners care about your experience and are very accommodating.

Called ahead and reserved a table. Had to wait a short while for the table after we arrived, but it was not a big deal It took quite a long time to order food and receive our food. My wife had a chicken-garlic pasta penne, and I had the lobster ravioli. The ravioli was quite good and so was my wife's pasta, but there was very little chicken in the dish. I would return.

After all the great reviews and recommendations we decided to check out Ethels. My husband and I were very dissappointed. First off, I asked if their meatballs were made by them or were frozen. She said they were not made by them. What kind of good Italian place doesn't even make their own meatballs... We both ordered different types of Mac and cheese since we showed up on mac and cheese night apparently. I ordered the troller mac (white fish and tomatoes) and my husband ordered the apple sausage mac. There was maybe a half filet of whitefish tops in my dish and four little tiny pieces of diced tomato. For $13. Ridiculous. My husband did not like his dish either. So, $30 after tip for Mac and cheese. Won't be back.

I recommend getting Ethel's to go because it is generally crowded and you can get a free beer, breakstick, ect. The best deal is to get the two pizzas. It is really the only way to go. The Mac and Cheese is great too. And if you are in town for Lasagna night you have to stop in.
