I seem to have a thing for writing/changing/updating/coding GUI code...
Yesterday's progress involved another change to the interface. This is (hopefully) the last major change to the main interface, though more information might get added if it becomes important. There are now six different menus that can be opened and closed individually. All the buttons from left to right: Build empty floor, duplicate floor, tower rooms, commercial rooms, residential rooms, job rooms, information menu, general menu, query, and bulldoze.

There's also some new icons for a few things (most icons are still temporary), and the pause and fast forward buttons have been moved to be by the clock (the game is currently paused in this screenshot).

In addition to all of this, there's been a few gameplay and code changes I hope to show off over the next few days.

Hey, look, progress!
It's been a while, hasn't it?

I've been looking for a full time job recently, for a few different reasons. But in the meantime, I'm trying to finish up a few things for another release of the game. The last few days, I've been focusing on getting information about the city to be visible in the game, and this is the result. Among other things, the city blocks have shrunk in size, and it's a bit more obvious which ones are for sale when you're on the city screen.

Additionally, once you start building your tower, people from nearby city blocks will start to visit. The lines that converge on the empty lot are a result of that information being displayed.

Playing around a bit with HTML5 Canvas and some fairly simple procedural generation. Because I can.
