A dream trip through South Africa, Botswana and onto Vic Falls. Here's our clients feedback:

"Selinda was incredible, organisation, food, hospitality, knowledge and personality of guides and what an amazing place. Wildlife awesome…Chitabe was fabulous, food, accommodation, service, guides, and wild life again amazing…Vic Falls was also superb. I would find it difficult to find a single fault or complaint. All in all I would like to thank Safari Essence for a massive job and we will definitely be back at some stage!" Padriag McCarthy

What our clients have to say:  Feedback from one of our clients following her recent trip to Uganga on a Gorilla Trekking Safari:

"I just want to say a big thank you for your personal efforts to make my 70th birthday dream of seeing the gorillas come true.  It was a unique and humbling experience and well worth all the effort to climb up there. Uganda is a most beautiful and vibrant country and its people friendly and very welcoming and proud of their land.  The Nile experience was another real highlight for me." Anne Falone.

Victoria Falls Educational

Last month the Safari Essence team were lucky enough to spend some great quality time together in the Chobe/Victoria Falls region! What a great, fun, amazing group of girls that made for such a memorable “work” trip! Our first stop was the bustling town of Kasane, located on the Chobe River and the gateway to the Northern Region of Chobe National Park. Our 2 night stay in the area allowed us to jam pack site visits to many of our favourite accommodations: Ngoma Safari Lodge and Chobe Elephant Camp were kind enough to put us up overnight, while visiting Chobe Bush/Safari Lodge, Chobe Bakwena Lodge, The Old House, Kubu Lodge, Muchenje and some of the Zambezi Collection Houseboats kept us busy as bees during the days! We did of course fit in a couple of game drives and well deserved G&T at the end of each day!

Well done to the Botswana government. A firm commitment to protecting its elephants. Find out more about it: http://voices.nationalgeographic.com/2015/07/16/life-size-ivory-elephant-sculpture-unveiled-in-botswana/

Sossusvlei – Namibia
Wilderness Safaris Educational: May 2015

Kulala Desert Lodge & Little Kulala

For those travellers looking for a private concession in this area, the Kulala Reserve is a great option with a private entrance into the Namib Naukluft Park! Don’t be fooled however, once in the Park one joins the large numbers of other tourists visiting the area! For a totally exclusive yet equal Namib experience, Wolwedans is the place to go!
Little Kulala is the luxury option, each room boasting a private plunge pool and pool lounge, great food and if you’re lucky a gorgeous desert bush dinner under the stars!
Kulala Desert Lodge is the more affordable option, best suited to self-drive visitors who are then able to book activities with the Lodge. Alternatively there are several other options located at the Sesriem Gate.
Highlights at both of these camps are the opportunity to do hot air ballooning over the dunes ending with a scrumptious champagne breakfast (highly recommended), quad biking in the desert, and the opportunity of sleeping out under the African stars in the comfort of your lodge accommodation.

Sossusvlei – Namibia
Wilderness Safaris Educational: May 2015

The famous Sossusvlei red sand dunes and nearby Deadvlei are two of Namibia’s most sought after attractions and once again, their splendour and majesty takes ones breath away! With huge granite outcrops towering out of an otherwise flat surface on one side; and ancient, flowing, towering red sand dunes emerging on the other side, the sights and views of the Sossusvlei region is truly magical! With a focus on geology and understanding the desert, together with the somewhat energetic activities of climbing Big Daddy, exploring Dead Vlei and climbing into Sesriem Canyon, there is never a dull moment!

Desert Rhino Camp - Damaraland - Namibia

Wilderness Safaris Educational: May 2015

Located in the Palmwag Concession on the wildlife side of the animal control fence, Desert Rhino Camp is a wonderfully remote, exceptionally run, intimate camp. Tracking elusive black rhino on foot and by vehicle is the main attraction here, and with the help of passionate guides and trackers who head out before dawn, we were not disappointed!!! This camp, voted Best Wilderness Group Safari Camp in 2014, lived up to its name in every sense of the word! Watching the interactions of clan of spotted hyena’s as they emerged from their den in the golden hour before sunset was an added bonus to a fantastic stay!

Wilderness Safaris Damaraland & Doro Nawas Camps
The Damaraland region of Namibia is one of incredible scenery and magnificent geology – with the added bonus of an opportunity to track down Namibia’s famous desert-adapted elephants!
The remote location of Damaraland Camp makes it one of Namibia's more exclusive products, with breath-taking views of the Etendeka Mountains! Though the a sighting of a herd of domesticated donkeys in the camp at night reminds one that this a successful joint venture between community and private sector. An outstanding but rare sighting of a herd of 500 plus Springbok was a real highlight!
Doro Nawas is  a great alternative for the more budget conscious traveller. With easy access to cultural highlights such as the World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein and the Living Damara Museum, it is a great addition to any Namibian, self-drive itinerary!
