This isn't funny anymore.

We aren't fulfilling Godwin's law.Or at least not just. But this has gone on long enough. Far past it.

We're using our observational skills to note that we are on the brink of nominating for the presidency a man who's social and  publicity tactics, stated espoused policy and plans, rhetoric and behavior... who in those things resembles Hitler in his rise to power.

We're using our observational skills to note that that rise to power came at the hands of an increasingly desperate population that had experienced a devastating cycle of war and nonrecovery; a population that wasn't able to work toward prosperity because the prosperity was being taken by a richer group (back then that'd have been US and those we allied with, in case it's unclear); a population that was vulnerable to divisive rhetoric and violent leading due to a historically diverse population - culturally, socially, religiously and race/ethnically. And we're noting as a people that that sounds familiar.

It's not funny. History lessons with Mrs. Smith in room 127 in your high school wasn't funny. Internment camp images you were forced to see weren't funny. Their isn't a joke here any longer. The fact remains that a leader is being chosen by the people that openly and unabashedly espouses local and global violence against those people who we can't trust.  Queer folk (but not you, only those flamboyant pushy ones), brown folk (but not you, only those dangerous ones, or those ones that want to take your jobsnstuff), women folk (but not you, only those feminazis), poor folk (but not you, only the LAZY ones).  It's not really a but situation. With that absolutism and that call for that level violence it's an all or nothing situation.

I can't go back in the closet, I am white but by god I try not to be a part of the problem that was set up by my forefathers and I'm doing my best to get by on the working class dime.  I am the enemy for this monstrosity. I am not in place to hide, and I won't do so even if I could. But...

I'm nauseous with fear of it. And I don't understand why more people aren't.

Is it me or are we currently living in the artificial news feed of the beginning of a apocalyptic disaster movie?

Like "during climate change talks in Egypt today, there was snow falling on the pyramids. The American Midwest is experiencing it's second foot of rain in the current week, but the east coast is sunny and warm in spite of being about to ring in the new year. Las Vegas is experiencing record blizzards, but several tornados were spotted in Mexico last night. Also, what appears to be a hurricane is forming over lake michigan. How interesting"

Haha, that's right Karyn, the weather sure is fickle, isn't it? And in other news, the local sports team in on it's 17th consecutive win. We'll go to Steve at the Stadium for an indepth report of this breaking news"

Favi LED Movie and Game Projector for Kids

I find it genuinely appalling that they need to say in the first grade packet for starter homework "all assignments need to be completed in the child's handwriting. This includes your children writing their own names on their own papers"
Why isn't this a given?

Look, you dumb motherfuckers.

Just cause the gayz can get married (and are, and it's fucking adorable all those happy people getting married some of them all formal and some of them just kissyfacing at the courthouse, how can you not see that's cute what the fuck is wrong with you) doesn't mean that it's the end of the world. Or the end of marriage. It's only the end of YOUR marriage if YOUR marriage was fucked to start with. Probably you would have noticed from perhaps an absence of fucking, emotional contact, and honesty.

The gayz getting married ALSO doesn't mean that kids will be able marry adults, or adults marry a tree or the car, or even (alas) that that dude will be able to marry 3 girls simultaneously.

It means that queer folk will be able to experience tax breaks, arguments about who was supposed to thaw the chicken, the right to shared debt and shit, and inevitable poor decisions about who to marry ending in the joys of divorce court. Nothing changes. It is literally not going to change most of you dumb motherfuckers' lives at all.

So stop thinking about it.

Focus on how we still have 45-50 million Americans living below the poverty line, we owe collectively 1.2 TRILLION dollars in student loan debt, an number that is increasing in an exponential fashion, almost a billion people globally don't have access to clean water, and the political parties are still worried what constitutes a family structure.

Okay, so this is a one day thing because sam took the paperwork for it and shoved it behind the toaster and I just found it. But her school is raising money for tech. Buy some useless crap and help sam's school if you can. I think it starts at ten dollars.
