on a rainy sunday afternoon with living social deal in hand my girlfriend and i walked into the restaurant. after going upstairs to find a seat, we were happy that the place was pretty empty ensuring good/quick service, or so we thought. looking over the menu i found that there were sashimi platters which listed identical items but one cost more than the other. when i asked the waitress about it she said "um i don't know i dont eat fish, but i think one has more stuff". it's ok that she didn't eat fish, but shouldn't you atleast know the basic differences between 2 items? between ordering and receiving our food, a full 35minutes passed. it took 40 for 1 piece to finally arrive after i inquired about it. my gingerale sat empty for most of the meal since she never came by to ask if i wanted more. Now for the food. the sashimi was OK, but the tilapia still had it's skin on it which i found very odd, also the people next to us found bones in their salmon. the 2 other rolls with fish we ordered were mediocre at best. their eel sauce is very muddy flavored, and the goat cheese with yellow tail roll is just an unmitigated disaster. my gf ordered a rice ball which was really good and 2 pretty decent vegetarian rolls. with leftovers in hand we asked for a togo box which caused us to wait for another 10min. after chatting with the people at the table next to us we found that today's offerings were poor for all concerned but their noodles are supposedly very good. i MIGHT give this place another chance but if i do it will surely be for take out.

Definitely has potential! The menu looked good, and good selection of beers. We had the avacado tempura, the gyoza's (potstickers), nigiri plate, and the soba salad. All were very good, except the soba salad didn't quite work because the soba were overwhelmed by the onions. Also the vegetables and the soba were not drained well, so you are left with a pool of liquid at the bottom of the salad. The avocado tempura were just amazing! 3/4 ain't bad and the menu has enough interesting things on it that i'd come back and try the place again. It's located in an up and coming neighborhood right next to Gallaudet university.

I have been dying to go here and finally I made it last week. The vibe is definitely laid back, but it fits with the food and decor, so it's all good. We sat inside and started with edamame and some cocktails. For sushi we tried the sticky balls (which were spicy and filled to the brim with awesomeness), Godzirra (a recommendation by the server and ALSO a winner) and the punch kitten (yep, you guessed it - WONDERFUL). It's not your typical sushi bar, but there are plenty of those. This is a unique gem that is perfect for a low-key dinner. Only dessert they had was Fried Cheesecake, which was sinful and wonderful, but hey - put some more sweets on the menu! The server was great and all in all a well priced meal that tasted scrumptious. Definitely going back!

I'm not a huge sushi fan but I do enjoy Asian noodle dishes; with that said, I have enjoyed both at sticky rice. The fried veggie rolls are pretty good, but my favorite appetizer is the veggie lettuce wraps, the tofu has such great flavor. I also really enjoy the sesame chicken with udon noodles. I like the atmosphere for the most part, but sometimes the indie music is a little loud and obnoxious.

I have no idea how I didn't discover this place before. It's astonishingly good. A couple friends and I popped in here to get away from the craziness of the H Street Festival, and we were surprised to find that it was very empty. There was some very loud music on the first floor, but the upstairs (which I didn't know existed) was a good amount more relaxed. We got a good booth, AND WERE IMMEDIATELY DELIGHTED TO NOTE THAT YOU CAN ORDER A BUCKET OF TOTS. It was incredible. They must put something in that sauce they give, because I couldn't stop downing those tots. For an Asian-themed place (heck, for any place), the vegetarian options were really, really plentiful. And tasty! The garden balls were amazing, and I chose the nicely spiced Gardens of Fire roll for my entree. Superb. (Sticky Rice also has friendly servers and extremely fun artwork)
