Although the quality is mostly great, it didn’t seem enough to justify a few abnormally high-priced items. The Sushi prices were appropriate, but if you take the same Sushi ingredients and construct a different item (like Poki or their Cupcake Trio) prices would jump. Meanwhile the food was plated very sexy-ly and deliciously. However the flavors were hit or miss. 2/3 or pieces in my Cupcake Trio were devoid of any flavor yet somehow still retained a great raw fish texture. The Poki fared better with its subtle Tuna taste pairing well with the Asian sauces and a great crunch from the accompanying Wonton Chips. I wasn’t a bit fan of the Sticky Balls because it was DROWNING in Eel Sauce. It seemed almost pointless to contain Tuna and Crab because you couldn’t taste either.

Fun, hip place with interesting, innovative sushi rolls and a bunch of fun food like a bucket o tater tots. Gotta love the tots. The sticky balls are good. The atmosphere is lively. Good place to go for a fun night out to dinner and drinks. Good for a group or date. Don't think they take reservations so could be a wait.

Excellent choice of original sushi and other Asian dishes. Friendly stuff, funky interior. Great place on the new H St NE strip of DC.

Get the Veggie Balls- you won't regret it. Great atmosphere on the deck upstairs and fantastic people! Everything we had was delicious... so much so that we stuck around for 3.5 hours and ordered seconds.

Review is based of bar experience. I just had happy hour here and the drinks were very nice. The bar was a great place to have cocktail after work. The bartender was nice and explained to us the $5 drink special which was excellent. The drink was called Sucker Punch and had vodka, grapefruit juice and pineapple juice mixed in. The bar wasn't very full when we were there but people were coming in and out. The bar set up was cozy and the lighting was dimmed. There were coat hangers under the bar which was very nice for hanging my coat. I only had drinks here but the food smelled great and the service was very good.

Not the best sushi I have ever had in my entire life. ( I hope I accurately portrayed the sarcasm in my voice) But it was good. I went at the beginning of lunchtime and the guy working the dining room was excellent and attentive. He was ready with food suggestions and sushi explanations. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Casual environment, good food. It's funny though that for a Sushi spot- you mostly hear about the tatter tots. Yea, this Sushi restaurant is well-known for it's tatter tots. And that perfectly describes this place. And that's a good thing.

on a rainy sunday afternoon with living social deal in hand my girlfriend and i walked into the restaurant. after going upstairs to find a seat, we were happy that the place was pretty empty ensuring good/quick service, or so we thought. looking over the menu i found that there were sashimi platters which listed identical items but one cost more than the other. when i asked the waitress about it she said "um i don't know i dont eat fish, but i think one has more stuff". it's ok that she didn't eat fish, but shouldn't you atleast know the basic differences between 2 items? between ordering and receiving our food, a full 35minutes passed. it took 40 for 1 piece to finally arrive after i inquired about it. my gingerale sat empty for most of the meal since she never came by to ask if i wanted more. Now for the food. the sashimi was OK, but the tilapia still had it's skin on it which i found very odd, also the people next to us found bones in their salmon. the 2 other rolls with fish we ordered were mediocre at best. their eel sauce is very muddy flavored, and the goat cheese with yellow tail roll is just an unmitigated disaster. my gf ordered a rice ball which was really good and 2 pretty decent vegetarian rolls. with leftovers in hand we asked for a togo box which caused us to wait for another 10min. after chatting with the people at the table next to us we found that today's offerings were poor for all concerned but their noodles are supposedly very good. i MIGHT give this place another chance but if i do it will surely be for take out.
