Students eagerly arrived at the Tao Heung Museum of Food Culture. They were mostly curious about the food culture in Hong Kong and the kinds of food that were eaten in the old days. They learned more about the food in Hong Kong and how they were made as well as got the chance to try out copper stamps as a souvenir of the trip.

A visit to the Hong Kong Space Museum

On the 18th July, 2018 (Wednesday), we had a fruitful experience in visiting the Hong Kong Space Museum in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Luckily, we visit the museum after the Renovation of Permanent Exhibition Halls has been done. Covering a total area of 1,600 square metres, the "Hall of the Cosmos" and "Hall of Space Exploration" house a hundred new exhibits of which about 70 per cent are interactive design. With the aid of interesting hands-on exhibits and advanced equipment coupled with lighting effects and environmental decorations, the exhibition introduces astronomy and space science in a vivid approach. Students have played a lot of interactive exhibits, such as the "Aurora" exhibit, "Icy Bodies", "Big Bang Theatre", "Gravity Surfing" etc. Later, we visit The "Hall of Space Exploration" on the first floor. There we have learned a lot of the development of space exploration and space technology.

It is a pity that we only stay there for two hours. Our students are filled with great joyfulness and excitement during the visit. It is hoped that students will continue to explore more in the field of space technology.

Dream Come True – Visit to the Damae Iccho Factory

It’s common to cook Damae Iccho (instant noodles) for a quick meal but have you think of making your own instant noodles?

Students, parents and our teachers went to the Damae Iccho Factory to make their own instant noodles on 17th July, 2018. It was an amazing experience to start making our own noodles from mixing the flour with alkaline water. Then, we repeated on kneading, pressing, turning and even drawing. Students worked well with their parents to finish all the tasks. Finally, everyone got our unique packet of Damae Iccho. Mission accomplished!

Now it’s time to eat! Let me first boil a pot of water …

A visit to Civil Aviation Department

Our students found their amazing visit to Civil Aviation Department enjoyable. It greatly aroused their interest in the realm of aviation. Through exploring the exhibition galleries within the Education Path, students acquired valuable knowledge, such as aviation history of Hong Kong, aircraft emergency features and provisions and Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations, etc. Students gained a better understanding of aviation through texts, artifacts and interactive multimedia systems. Not only did the outing bring more insights about aviation to students, it also helped realize and develop their potentials of making a positive contribution to the aviation industry in the near future.

A visit to the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park

On the 17th July, 2018 (Tuesday), we had an enjoyable tour in visiting the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park in Sha Tin. We have joined Rodo workshop which is an exclusive science workshop to provide a platform for science and technology learning, inspiring logical thinking and nurturing creativity through the build and make process. We made a spinning top robot and wrote a simple coding on Scratch to control it. We then modified our spinning tops and completed each other to see whose spinning can spin longer. It was fun.
Next we had a walk to the Phase 3 which not only focuses on incorporating green features, it also challenges conventional design concepts, construction approach and operational requirements.
It is not only amazing but also educating. We all had memorable time there. We love SCIENCE.
