My wife and I discovered this place as she was making daily, early morning trips for treatment at Northside Hospital. We made it fun by making each day of treatment a 'date day' afterwards, seeking out new restaurants in the general area. We spotted Egg Harbor Cafe just in time for a brunch and thought it looked inviting. Despite an inviting menu boasting various enticing 'Benedictine' eggs, omelets, waffles, cakes, etc., I opted for the 'Traditional' breakfast: two scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese grits, and English muffin with preserves. (I substituted the grits for the 'harbor potatoes' that would normally be served.) This was perhaps the best--most perfectly prepared and presented--meal I have had out in a very long time. The bacon was Boar's Head (I asked), and they served an ample helping of four large pressed strips that were dry, i.e., free of excess grease (I imagine they dab the grease away with a paper towel or the like). The scrambled eggs were fluffy, buttery and perfect. And the grits? These are served in a modest-sized oval oven dish. The cooked grits are placed in the oven dish, covered with a thin layer of Monterey Jack cheese, and baked until the cheese is golden brown on top. Wow. Even the English muffins were toasted to perfection, and the preserves--raspberry, perhaps?--were obviously the best quality. The atmosphere is clean, bright, and family friendly. Our server was efficient and friendly. All around, it was just a delightful dining experience. We returned perhaps a week later. I ordered the same plate, and everything the second time around was just as described above. This is a wonderful place for breakfast out--the best place I've ever been for this meal, in fact.

Egg Harbor Cafe is a family friendly breakfast joint. The menu is pretty large, meaning everyone will find something. Service is very good. And the pricing is better than some other spots (I'm looking at you, Another Broken Egg). Come hungry and be prepared to wait as lines build fast on the weekends.

My favorite new brunch spot! The Autumn French Toast was delicious! For all of my seafood lovers, you must try the Lobster Scrambler. It is beyond delicious! Also, their Strawberry Orange juice was very refreshing. Last but not least, Matthew was very friendly and deliver great service.

We visit every weekend and occasionally during the week. Food quality is great and consistent. The atmosphere is up beat. The service level is high with the entire staff, especially with Tori and Michael. The wait can be long and the call ahead feature is no longer available but I'd rather wait for quality than walk right in to sub par service and food quality.
