Do you have your Mutation deck yet? These are examples of the POD cards from DrivetruRPG. You can get the pdf for next to nothing to have a peek first before getting the printed cards.

The cards show examples of mutations to use for character or monster creation, or for random mutations in the game. The rule book also adds some new Edge and Hindrances to unlock the advantages and disadvantages on the cards. This could be used for many types of games, so follow the link and have a look. :)

Please do not take my general silence about the results of the election as acceptance or happiness. I despair, I rage, I shake with fear and hopelessness.

I'm having trouble focusing on much of anything right now besides my kids. I'm having trouble keeping my thoughts on enjoying our time together, rather than worrying about their futures.

I'm not okay with it.

Through Wednesday, November 23, we revive our October 2015 The One Ring Bundle, featuring The One Ring™ Roleplaying Game from Sophisticated Games and Cubicle 7 Entertainment based on The Hobbit™ and The Lord of the Rings™ by J.R.R. Tolkien. Just as it did in its sensational original run, this resurrected collection presents everything you need for a campaign that evokes an authentic Tolkien atmosphere. And the supplements in this offer also support Cubicle 7's Adventures in Middle-earth, the brand-new OGL rules set (not included in this offer).

For just US$14.95 you get our Starter Collection (retail value $45) with the complete RPG The One Ring (retail price $30) and its companion Loremaster's Screen and Lake-town Guide (retail $15), both as DRM-free .PDFs. And if you pay more than the threshold (average) price, which is set at $29.95 to start, you rise in Wisdom and also get our entire Bonus Collection with four more supplements (retail value $84):

- The Darkening of Mirkwood (retail price $23): Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan's massive months-long campaign against an ever-growing Shadow.
- The Heart of the Wild (retail $20): The companion gazetteer for The Darkening of Mirkwood presents extensive details of the entire Wilderland region.
- Rivendell (retail $23): Expand your campaign with this regional guide to eastern Eriador and the Last Homely House of Elrond.
- Tales From Wilderland (retail $18): Seven complete scenarios set in Mirkwood, the Misty Mountains, Erebor, Lake-town, and other locales across Rhovanion. Play each separately, or combine them as an epic campaign spanning years.

Word at the Prancing Pony puts the total retail value of this collection at US$129. Ten percent of your payment (after gateway fees) goes to the charity selected by Cubicle 7 Entertainment, Reading is Fundamental. And purchasers of this offer also receive a discount code good through December 9, 2016 for 20% off the purchase of print copies of The One Ring products at the Cubice 7 webstore.

It's getting difficult to keep from calling it "my precious," so we'll stop here. This revived One Ring Bundle offer ends Wednesday, November 23.

Ok, yes, it's a cheezy "joke map".

But today's #Mapvember cue is "Control"... What else could I do?

Keeping this in mind for when #SavageRifts is printed!
I GMed my first Savage Worlds game last night and it felt like a resounding success.

I probably spent 8 hours prepping the pre-gen characters and that proved to be extremely helpful. Everyone had clearly defined roles as members of a video production team of 'ghost hunters' that were trying to get a good enough show filmed to garner a network deal. It basically turned everyone into 'Carl Kolchak' and they were pursuing the story even to point of delaying the final resolution. The reporter tie-in gave them a logical reason to not intuitively jump to the end-game sequence and allowed the RPG aspects to be more important.

Savage Worlds quickly faded to the background once everyone was clear on the idea of the importance of the number 4 and what raises were about. Combat, when it did happen, was brutally fast and had several of them hiding or otherwise avoiding conflict once the saw how deadly it could be. They actually acted, and rightfully so, like getting shot at could be very lethal.

The core systems stayed out of the way and did not become the focus of discussion or hinder game play in the least. All in all, it was a lot of fun!
