We are a locally owned gym located in Chapin, SC. We want to share our CrossFit passion with our community!

Why We’re CrossFit Bomb Island?

We wanted to choose a name for our box that was significant to Chapin. Bomb Island holds such a special place in the history of not only Chapin (Lake Murray) but also in South Carolina. For those not familiar, Bomb Island it is a 12-acre island in the middle of Lake Murray. It is also referred to as “Doolittle Island” after General Doolittle, commander of the Doolittle Raid. The Doolittle Raid was the first United States air raid on the Japanese Theatre in World War II. A significant portion of the raid’s tactical planning and development was practiced in Columbia, specifically over Bomb Island. It was common for the B-25 pilots of the raid to practice their runs over the island during this time. We found that the name CrossFit Bomb Island was a perfect way to honor a unique place to our area, as well as honoring our military and a significant part in South Carolina & American History

Core Strength and Conditioning Program: Come try CrossFit!

CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program that is constantly varied, functional movements and implemented with high intensity for maximum results. Our workouts are scalable to everyone ­ even those who have never trained! CrossFit is for anybody looking to better themselves with improved fitness. This program is fun, challenging and extremely effective. Our workouts will improve all aspects of your fitness including strength, endurance, stamina, agility, balance, speed, power, flexibility, coordination and accuracy. ALL of our workouts are lead by a coach, who provides training and encouragement. It's the perfect program to get you where you want to be! CrossFit Bomb Island is committed to improving the lives of those we have the opportunity to work with, by providing Extreme Athletic Performance Training to anyone with a desire to improve their physical well being, regardless of age or physical condition. Enabling everyone to "Discover their inner Athlete".

Interested in a FREE TRIAL at CrossFit Bomb Island? Introductory Class

We offer an Introductory Class so you are able to see what we are all about. It is about 45 minutes and we will take you through a warmup, and a “WOD” (workout of the day). Contact us for times to run through a free trial class.

On-Ramp Classes

Don’t be intimidated or afraid of a barbell or kettlebell! If you decide you would like to join then we will hold a 2 day workshop lasting about 1.5 hours. This is where you will learn the fundamental movements we use in our classes. Don’t know a thing about olympic lifting or stretching? No fret! We have a patient and educated group of coaches who are ready to help teach the basics. We will also teach you ways to modify these movements appropriately.

We here at CrossFit Bomb Island want all of our participants to feel successful. We will make sure that we do everything possible to help you meet your goals. We have the tools, knowledge and resources to help you succeed.

Who is CrossFit for? CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. The CrossFit program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

What is CrossFit? CrossFit begins with a belief in fitness. The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness. We have sought to build a program that will best prepare trainees for any physical contingency — not only for the unknown, but for the unknowable. After looking at all sport and physical tasks collectively, we asked what physical skills and adaptations would most universally lend themselves to performance advantage. In sum, our specialty is not specializing.
