GEARING UP FOR GANESH UTSAV ,More than 60 yougsters of Aundh in the age group of 8 - 25 years have begun practicing playing dhol, tasha, at the river bank, next to Vitthal Mandir in Aundh Gaon for the upcoming Ganesh Utsav
Jagdamb Dhol Tasha , with their own efforts are inaugurated recently at Vitthal Mandir in Aundh gaon. The launch program had troupe members Dattatray Khade, Anup Sathe, film actors Nikhil Vairagar and Ajinkya Jadhav , Sandeep Khatpe. Anup Sathe gave information to the people present about the Pathak (troupe).
“There are twenty dhol players, fifteen tasha players while twenty others play different instruments. These students are pursuing education in different streams like engineering, science, commerce as well arts. They practice in the evening between 6 pm to 8 pm. They set their own tunes and practice on it,” Their performances have taken them to several places across the state.
Through the group, they have also performed for several Ganpati mandals in the area and the money collected has been used for social activities. This year they celebrated 150 birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda through which they organised several social awareness programs. They also organized a career guidance seminar for 10th and 12th standard students.Further, “Students need proper guidance to channelize their energy. The aim of the troupe is to raise social awareness among the people.”
The members of the troupe performed for twenty minutes at the program.
