Defiantly my favorite record store in Dublin. Great selection of both old and new vinyl covering all genres it seems. The book shop is great for random little gems also.

Freebird is just one of those record stores that can only be described as a dying breed....Decade after decade this store continues to deliver the very best in all kinds of REAL music...A real gem ......An absolute must for indie and all sorts of music lovers....Very knowledgeable staff....ask for anything/ you wont catch these boys out....Long may this store last....Derek ...Dublin...

A brilliant small shop that reminds me of the indie stores I frequented before "Alternative" became a bin label in the Tower/HMV/etc megastores. They handle secondhand books as well as both secondhand and new music (vinyl & CDs). When we were there, separate staff were on for the bookshop and music. The gent with whom we chatted (sorry I've forgotten your name) when seeking irish rock was knowledgable, personable and after a long chat about many different artists and styles gave three solid recommendations that we've enjoyed immensely. Go past the sterile stores with label-enforced rigid categorization and clueless cheap labour and take the time to visit with someone plugged into the regional music scene.
