Rana, before you add the butter, you can indeed use it as a meringue for Baked Alaska - or even as a nonfat, meringue like frosting without the browning step.
Ruizoe7, see above comment. It is fine without butter. As far as adding just some butter but not all, that would have to be trial and error. I have done the 2 extremes, but not any in the middle! Let us know!
