1. Coached high school and college cross country and track for 13 years. And she coached a high school state champion in cross country, two runners-up teams, a NJCAA national championship women's track team (CAC), an individual NJCAA cross country champion and a 10k track champion at Phoenix College.
2. Was a track athlete and was an All-American 6th Place Nationals heptathlete at Phoenix College, and ran middle distance and hurdles at the university level. She is a product of MCCCD.
3. Became an English teacher, not because she loved English literature (her degree), but because she wanted to be a coach and her advisor said she had to be a teacher to be a coach. She learned to love literature and teaching after the fact.
4. Rides a Yamaha V-Star 1100 motorcycle, and has been riding since senior year of high school (over 30 years).
