How Do Disc Brakes Work?

Disc brakes are important to the safety of you and your passengers. "Some vehicle only have disc brakes on the front axle and some have disc brakes on both front and rear axles."

As you apply the brake pedal, brake fluid is pressurized in the master cylinder, pumped through brake lines down to disc brake calipers. As the pressurized fluid builds in the disc brake caliper it expands a piston in the caliper and squeezes disc brake pads on the disc brake rotor causing your vehicle to slow down.
