I stayed here on my way back from my vacation, I went from denver to detroit and back. This was the best place we stayed the whole trip!!! Everything here is so cool from the room decor down to the key card holders. The staff was very frendly and helpful... Love this place! And lets keep in mind ANYONE can get bed bugs is does not matter how clean or fancy a hotel is. They should not be rated by bed bugs but how they deal with them, like if they comp your room and try to make it up to you or not. I work at a Holiday inn and i can tell you all that the manager of this place works hard to keep it clean and Im sure bugs are delt with in a timely manner. I will be coming back next trip.

I got bit in my eye by a bug at this hotel and woke up , my eye was swollen shut . I went to the front desk to ask if there were any bug complaints recently , they told me no. The lady seen my eye and was very concerned she gave me a free breakfast pass . When breakfast was supposed to already be included . But this puts the icing on the cake . When I first arrived a man who checked me in gave me bad attitude because I'm young ( 21 ) he said . Well you just made it cause you can't stay here if you're under 21 .. How is that relevant ? I don't know !! But then I asked him could I get a single bed instead of double because I didn't need to beds he told me they only had 2 bed rooms in that hotel ( a lie ! ) it's a nice hotel don't get me wrong they just have bad customer service ! That man at the front desk is very rude . Everyone else was ok but they need to do better at making sure their PAYING guests are satisfied . No matter the age or color of skin I'm just saying . I would never recommend this hotel to anyone

We stayed here from August 19th - 21st, for a quick birthday staycation. I was initially enticed by the 3 1/2 rating of this hotel, as well as the fact that they have a pool, restaurant and bar. However, my partner and I quickly realized that the star rating on this hotel is quite overblown. I will list the problems as I remember them- Upon check-in, the front desk was a bit short and unhelpful. We were given our room keys, but not told anything about the hotel other than where our room was located. We are a young couple, so we are used to indifferent service. It is always a disappointment, however. The room itself was just okay. Boring white popcorn ceiling, a shoddy blue wallpapering job, and a minuscule bathroom. I've stayed and bigger and nicer Extended Stay America hotels. The television was absolutely awful. It is tiny, the picture is terrible, and there were hardly any channels. We tried to watch the Cubs game on what was supposed to be ESPN, but it ended up showing Fox News. We received no help whatsoever from the front desk about this issue. Apparently, "the maintenance guy had left for the day." The provided HDMI cable did not work, either. (I don't think it was hooked up to the TV. I would've hooked it up myself, but it led into the wall.) So, no Cubs game for us. Very noisy rooms. We could hear entire conversations in the hallways, doors slamming, footsteps, construction noises in the early A.M., and Roosevelt Road traffic. Not what you'd expect from a "3 1/2 star" hotel. The Wi-Fi here is terrible as well. It constantly disconnects, changes signal strength, and is excruciatingly slow at times. Since the TV wasn't working here, we tried to stream from our Xfinity account on our laptops, but the Wi-Fi wouldn't allow for it. Minor issues- No free breakfast, no pool toys, there were a few ants in our bathroom, and the vending machine doesn't accept coins. Overall, I had hoped for much more from a "3 1/2 star" hotel. I would give it 2 1/2 stars if they did not have a pool and a restaurant, but 3 stars at the most. I will not stay here again. I can pay less for a cheaper hotel with free breakfast in the area and skip the pool. The only upside was that the housekeepers did a fantastic job on cleaning the room. 5 stars for them! In summary - It was overpriced, overblown, and disappointing.

It was clean and inviting. Check in was smooth even with many patrons in the lobby leaving from a conference held at the hotel.

Excels in some areas fails in others. I really needed a 3.5 star option. I mostly like this hotel but would love to see it improve. I've stayed here a few time now so I think I can say that I know what to expect. Hotel has a trendy, "boutique" feel. Great choice of colors and decor. Rooms are small but comfortable, bathrooms can be pretty tight. This is silly, but they knocked it out if the park in the aroma department. Toiletries all smell great and the little aromatherapy kit is actually quite nice. I've long stopped raiding hotel toiletries during my travel but if I don't bring the Plaza stuff home I usually get the evil eye from the spouse. Beds are super comfortable. I would say almost as good as Westin or HGI beds. Staff is always nice and pool area is beautiful (if you care about that). I'd prefer to have a nice Gym which this hotel doesn't have. It's got the basics. But only the basics. The included breakfast is OK. But just so. Room was clean but it's the details that get me. Lamp shades had holes in them and wall had some random blue paint. Not sure if it was trying to patch some damage. If it was, they got the color way wrong. And it's the little details that start to add up. When you look past the lipstick you stay to see than the hotel is really just an old Inn that was renovated with a cool facade. The metal door frames, strangely placed elevators and low ceilings tell you this place had a much less stellar past. All that being said, this will probably still be my home during travel to the Lombard/Downers Grove area.
