UPDATE: told dispatch that I was going to just go ahead and take pictures of the license plates myself...she threatened arrest. Arrest; people. 6 men, standing in the middle of the road. I drive by, they simultaneously start kicking and punching my car. They then chase me down the street. I call 911. Hold. They redirect me. Someone else answers. Hold. They redirect me. 25 minutes later, I give the Hollywood Police station a description of the men and the vehicles. I notice a moment later that one of the suspects circled the block and parked in a red zone. I call the police station to update them. I call 20+ times. I had to call 911 back. Maybe don't call the police for anything. Apparently sounds like I should have taken care of the whole situation myself. Now I know.

I'm a Nevada resident switching back and forward from CA to NV due to job opportunities. I was pulled over by one of LAPD Hollywood division officers for "wrong left turn". They towed my car away stating my license is suspended due to a citation I had 4 years ago which I fixed and cleared from my record right away. I called CA and NV DMVs and they told me MY DRIVING PRIVILEGES IN BOTH STATES ARE "TOTALLY FINE" and there isn't even a single issue not even mentioning about suspended license or anything. LAPD are holding my car for no legal reason. When my sister appeared with valid CA license to get the car released they started screaming at her stating I've had a citation I'm not telling anyone about and I'm making a fool out of her asking to go pick up my vehicle, that's why they won't release it. LAPD are crooks, liars and literally criminals in the face of the citizens. I'm contacting a lawyer and there will be another lawsuit against the criminals with badges in LA. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I waited 35 minutes just to have an officer tell me to go to the west hollywood sheriff's station. I told him I needed a signature for a tabs correction. He said it would be $25 I said no, its $10. He said it's $25, GOT YOU! Next person... What a DICK.

I haven't found the police in LA to be terribly helpful in the majority of cases (compared to NYC), but can't make a blanket statement about them because each officer is different, and I can't really know what they've been dealing with each day as a review of the printed police blotters online or in local newspapers reveals. I've tried to get information from officers on the street repeatedly and found multiple officers reluctant to help much. What's really unacceptable is that the Hollywood Police Department never answers it's phone! This is crazy. They also frequently use helicopters to pursue people in the middle of the night, which is a huge noise complaint problem. I've been wakened at 1:30AM on multiple occasions, and the helicopters hovered overhead or circled for an hour sometimes. It wouldn't be quite as frustrating if we could know why this was going on.

Called 17 times, no answer. Went down there and they were just sitting behind the desk, letting the phone ring, playing on their own phones... Super unprofessional, smug attitude, not helpful, and they treat you like your an idiot when you ask them questions. They act like know it all 5th graders. I do not remember taking a vote on any of this. I do not want these people as my PEACE officers. Zero Stars, we are better off without them. We can sort out our own problems people.
