Although many of us already on summer break, the season of summer doesn't officially begin until later this month. I've compiled a list of days that will, with minimal effort, take ordinary days and make them extraordinary. Days like National Hot Dog Day and National Vanilla Ice Cream Day and some that are designed to teach our children to think beyond themselves, such as National Cheer Up the Lonely Day. It's going to be a great summer!

A few years ago, I attended the our local homeschooling chapters graduation. It gave me the long term perspective I needed to see the bigger picture- the one that is beyond my capacity to see from with in the trenches of day-to-day life.

When I asked my daughter which girl featured in Glenys Nellist's newest book "Love Letters from God: Stories for a GIrl's Heart" was her favorite, she answered, "That is a tough question.
