Lake Casitas Fishing Guide 07/14/2018 – Spent the last three days fishing with my great friend world famous actor Richard Roundtree. Most of you remember Richard’s classic hit movie “Shaft” and it’s always great to catch up and spend the day fishing with him. Here he is with a beautiful Lake Casitas largemouth bass caught on a crankbait. As a matter of fact, “Shaft 5” is due out in theaters next summer! Again, anglers interested in booking a fishing trip can call or text me at 818-439-1154.

Lake Casitas Fishing Guide 07/13/2018 – Here is Ginger with a big smile on her face as she catches the largest bass of her life. Super exciting to watch her as she battled back-and-forth with this beautiful Lake Casitas largemouth on a crankbait today. We caught several fish today. Finally, it was a bit cooler and it seems like the fishing is starting to turn around because it’s a little bit cooler. Anglers interested in booking their fishing trip can call or text me at 818-439-1154.

Lake Casitas Fishing Guide 07/11/2018 -
Here is my great friend and longtime client Jerry Berman this morning, and boy it’s been a struggle at Lake Casitas. Moreover, water temperature has jumped to 81°. It’s a lot of work but we’re still catching a few on crankbaits, on the outside edge of the grass. We have been starting at 6 AM to avoid some of the afternoon heat. However, we're looking for conditions to improve. Anglers interested in booking their fishing trip can call or text me at 818-439-1154.

Lake Casitas Fishing Guide 07/06/2018 – Here is 15 year-old George fishing with his father today. I’m telling you it was one of the hottest (temperature) days I have fished Lake Casitas. Maybe two or three boats on the lake. We started fishing at 6 AM. Great to see a big smile on his face as he caught very nice fish based on today’s tough conditions. Similarly, we will be out there again tomorrow morning….can’t wait for it to get nice and cool again.

With the kids out of school for the summer we are ready with all of the rods reels and tackle you will need for the day. There’s bottled water ice and packaged snacks on board at no extra charge. We have several boats to choose from and we’re open seven days a week. Call or text me at 818-439-1154 for more information.

Southern California Saltwater Guide Trip 07-03-2018 - I was really excited and eager for my alarm clock to go off this morning because of how unique of a trip it was going to be today. Picked up Mathew at Channel Islands harbor this morning at 6am just like any normal Trip, only thing is Mathew is a die hard fly fisherman and only brought flygear. We set out on lake like summer conditions in hopes of catching a gamefish on a hand tied fly and fly rod. More specifically a White Sea bass because the current world record for fly fishing White seabass is only a weight of a little over 12 pounds. Normally known for their elusiveness, the first stop in the morning we see many seabass up on the surface giving their presence away while they ate red crabs. A few different spots of fish that gave us close shots were up long enough for Mathew to place a red crab imitation fly near their mouths. Only thing missing was a bite. Acting very finicky, we stayed persistent but never tricked one into eating a fly. A very visual show was had as we watched seabass swim around the boat, one even swimming within spitting distance of the bow of the boat, so close you could almost reach down and touch it, but still never bit anything with a hook. Nonetheless a really cool sight to see. Mathew was very experienced and very determined and with his patience we stuck it out for as long as conditions would let us but never got one to bite. Afterwards we moved to a different area in search of a yellowtail in the afternoon on the fly but were compensated with bass and bonito instead. Really awesome trip getting to see Mathew perform an art of a different style of fishing and getting to pull on a few fish because of it. The fly fishing world record seabass is still swimming around somewhere and we’re determined to catch it. Thanks Mathew it was an awesome trip on the water . - Captain Jake Klinshaw

Southern California Saltwater Fishing Charter 07/01/2018 – Headed out with Manny and his two sons this morning in some beautiful lake like weather in hopes of the boys catching their first ever fish. They did just that plus many more! With slower island fishing we opted to spend the day local and change the pace with some bass fishing. We were rewarded with basically wide open action all day. Since it was the boys first fishing trip ever, I worked with them and within the first hour they were flylining baits to bass better than most seasoned anglers. Well over 100 mixed sand bass and calico bass were caught with double and triple hookups the normal throughout the day. After they caught more than their fair share of bass, the guys wanted to keep a few fish so we fished shallow water rockfish for some quick limits of delicious eating fish to take home before calling it a day. A very good day at that. Very enjoyable group of people and another awesome day on the water. Thanks fellas, hope to see you again.
