There are times when I wonder how far we've really come with all of this stuff.

It's 2017. I have a Core i5 computer with 4 GB of memory, not that hot these days (typical government spec desktop), running Windows 7.

And just by uploading a large file to a network share, I can slow it to a crawl. It becomes almost useless.

This reminds me a lot of the experience I had back around 1996-1997, except we were running Windows 95 on Pentiums...

I swear my Android phone would do a better job of this, uploading the same file to Google Drive.
