If you've rolled through the Inner Sunset here in San Francisco lately recently and seen some of these awesome benches, here's the story behind them.

The Kickstarter campaign for Advent Saga just went live! A lot of my friends have been hard at work on crafting this amazing and unique new game. Now it's time to get it funded and really bring the whole thing to life. Any and all support is truly appreciated!

No matter what happens at E3, this is the most important piece of videogame news right now. #SupportAustin

So many good memories.

"The world has too many photographers. We’re at ‘peak photographer’ at the moment. There is an entire idiot class of professional photographer who seem to believe they’re creating something essential every time they pick up a camera. It’s not the photographer’s fault. I blame the creative directors who commission them. There are way too many photographs in the world. Think of how many pictures have been taken all over the world in the time you’ve read this article – even this sentence. This is another sentence I’ve just typed, so that’s like a ton more. All these images multiplying and multiplying. All those shitty pictures of cats and beautiful sunsets that sit dying in the corner of your smart phone, shared with the hope of being liked by people who all have the same thousand pictures hiding on their phone. All these forgettable memories. I don’t see that’s much different from the endless stream of boring fashion pictures, boring travel pictures, boring still lifes of food that are commissioned by magazines, ad agencies, marketing firms. For every Juergen Teller there are a million Terry Richardsons. So let’s just stop. Or just use what’s there already. Or at least think about it."

Canon's DSLR lineup is a disaster and it's stemming from a complete lack of clear product direction. I wanted to hold off on this post until I had more time to spend with a few of the cameras I mention below. Although I spent more time with my personal SL1, rented an EOS 6D, sold my EOS M, rented a Nikon D600, got hands on time with a D610 and D800, and rented an EOS 5D Mk.III, the recent launch of the completely misguided Canon T5 has forced my hand.

I've been working on a post about how Canon has really dropped the ball over the past year or so in terms of their DSLR line up. They are displaying a complete lack of product vision and direction. After spending a week with the 6D, followed by the announcements made at CP+, I decided it was really time to take a look at switching platforms.

The first stop is Nikon, whose D600/610 is, at least on paper, exactly what I want in a prosumer DSLR.
