This place is great but understand a couple of things. 1. You will wait. Most likely outside and it will be a while. You will sit with people you don't know. And the food will take a while to come out. 2. It is loud. The music is part of the style of the place. So understand it will be loud and they will not turn it down so don't ask. It could be techno it could be pantera it could be rap. That's part of the fun. 3. The staff are interesting. Some are incredibly friendly people. All are people and all will give you the same respect you give them. 4. Don't be a grouch. Get to know the people you are sitting with because again it will be a wait for your food. 5. Cash only and no take out orders. They will give you a box for anything you don't finish. 6. Enjoy the food. Check out the specials and look over the menu. The biscuits and sausage gravy is by far the best I've ever had ever. 7. If even one part of this doesn't sound fun or enjoyable. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!! Because you will not enjoy your breakfast.

Food is amazing, THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST BREAKFAST IN LANSING. Well worth waiting in line. It would be nice if they set up a webcam, so everyone could know if the line is long or not.. lol

If you're willing to be treated badly for good food, this is the place for you! I had never been to this place but love that they source locally and have heard good things about it so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't notice anyone taking names and noticed an empty seat at the bar. Since I was a party of one, and was interested in ordering to-go I asked the woman next to me if it was taken and she looked at me in what i perceived to be a disgusted way and told me I "have to wait for the lady to call my name", so I assumed there was some sort of reservation system where you put your name on a list. Then a server approached me and asked what I needed in what I perceived to be a condescending tone, and I told her I just needed to put my name in. She didnt say anything, turned around, and started completing various tasks. Some of the reviews claim "the staff treats you the same way you treat them" but I would definitely have to disagree. I had never been to the place, and just didn't know how things worked. I definitely was not trying to be rude. I'm sure the food is delicious but the people there don't seem very pleasant. Also you have to pay in cash only, and wait outside in the freezing cold. There is also blaring music. I honestly think its kind of masochistic that some people are willing to suffer through all of this just for a breakfast they could have made themselves, had they put the time and effort in.

While the food / service was fine , the restaurant itself was FILTHY . Its impossible to give a place a good review that specializes in food service that is dirty. Cleanliness comes before anything else in this business and Golden Harvest fails in this department. I can understand if a restaurant is busy and is simply unkept but we are talking old caked on filth. The next time you eat here look up at this ventilation. Youll see caked on dust bunny, grey scum just waiting to fly right down onto the cooks flattop or into someones omelet. Look at the windows , around the edges of tables , chairs, or countertops. You can just tell the place hasn't been deep cleaned in a long long time which is a damn shame. Worst of all was when I saw a cook(short bearded loud guy) take a stack of sliced cheese and set a slice of cheese on the shoulder of the old guy that works the register with all the bracelets. He then took it off and put it right on someone's sandwich he was in the middle of preparing. If i was the owner he would have been fired. All in all, i guess i dont understand the hype about the place. We live only a few blocks away and will still go elsewhere

Food is a 85 pts. Let's face it. This is just a good breakfast place by American city standards. Service is a FAIL. Was not greeted at all as I sat down. The person who took order of my food didn't even look at me. This is bad..but not a deal breaker. The biggest problem is TAKING FOREVER between ORDER and FOOD. Got in today at 7 10 AM. Ordered at 7 15. Food did not arrive till 7 50. Got out by 8 10AM... what kind of breakfast place takes this long? Every US/Canadian cities I visit or lived in, I would always go to several good breakfast place to spice up my morning. This is by far the longest I had waited for food. It wasn't just me that morning. Others who sat down before me...got their food after me..so They are probably at a 50 mins wait for food. Unacceptable for breakfast places. They had roughly 27 customers. The wait time is the deal breaker.

Went on a weekday and still had to wait 30+ minutes to "share" a table. Lots of character and loud music. Food takes time but everything is scratch made so not an issue. Gargantuan portions so we split a mushroom omelet with hash browns. It was tasty. They up charge you for splitting your meal (which i can understand but... its just too much food for one person IMOP)

The best toast I have ever had, and the omelette was pretty awesome too.
