Instant delayed gratification!

Last night when I got home, I spent about an hour and a half while tidying up calling companies whose services we pay for monthly. After asking how they were doing, I told each representative just a little bit about what’s going on in our household right now -- I’ve got a baby’s medical costs and some unexpected home-related costs -- and said that I was looking to cut costs immediately. 

Two companies found temporary discounts at or exceeding 50 percent. The third couldn’t do it, so I suspended my account temporarily. Over six months, I’ll save a total of about $1,250. And at the end of six months, I’ll be calling again. 

Do you set up reminders to call your internet, TV and other service providers to ask about promotions?
