My to-listen list is longer than my days and my to-read list is longer than my nights. So I'm hoping I get a window of time on this cool Sunday to crack a new book. And if you've got the time, might I recommend "Disgruntled"? My review below.

OK, quick poll, which do you prefer, graupel (pictured) or scrapple (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrapple)?

Set in  #Denver , this bizarre video takes '80s family sitcom opening credits tropes to ridiculous extremes.

Have you seen the Adult Swim’s hilarious, nightmarish “Too Many Cooks” faux-infomercial? If so, did you notice that it’s set in the Mile High City? http://dpo.st/1oH8rj7
The "Too Many Cooks" viral video has an unexpected setting: The Mile High City

Let's talk about #Interstellar. Some folks I've talked to say they wouldn't consider what I wrote to even have a spoiler. And it's true, if you've read anything about the movie. Perhaps I was just being cautious. But if you're from #Colorado, I think you'll appreciate this post.
So, I want to talk about something, but there are minor "Interstellar" spoilers ahead -- about where the movie is set.

Here's today's #Denver  weather review/open thread: http://blogs.denverpost.com/theden/2014/10/30/denver-weather-review-102914/

And today's open thread prompt: How important are "I Voted" stickers to you?

I know of a couple of places with beer milk shakes -- Boulder Beer's is pretty serious business. And then there's this place, newly open in Denver. Had one? Or heard of other places making them?

It's a chain out of Austin.  What did they have for local brews?

Pleased that this'll be stuck in my head a while.
The Pathways Interns of NASA's Johnson Space Center made "All About That Space" as a way to raise interest and excitement in the Orion launch (as if we needed it!). It's the most charming thing in the whole world.

Is it folly to judge Mother Nature? Yes, says I, and away we go!
Did we reach the level of cold last night referred to as âœLung Stab Coldâ by one notable Badger State expat?

What's that smell in #Denver ? Why, it's cold weather! Also... also, it's this.
If you've lived in Denver for any length of time, you know the smell. Let's call it "earthy" -- the "earthy" smell that arrives in town when snow is coming.

Hey! It's a scavenger hunt. I have a feeling you'll see most of this stuff on Halloween. If you do... let me know? Samples:

-Adult dressed as Elsa from “Frozen”
-Decade-plus-old movie reference other than The Dude from “The Big Lebowski”
-The word “spooktacular”

...and more.

#Denver   #Halloween
Look at you, sitting there. What are you doing? You might as well take part in the Den's Halloween Scavenger Hunt! Here's how it works.

Here's why you should go to the Great Sand Dunes in the fall. Really nice story and it sounds like it was a great trip. #Colorado #travel
On a fall visit to Colorado's Great Sand Dunes National Park, everything feels a little out of the ordinary.

Just in time for your #Halloween decorating inspiration, a new orange-and-yellow species of daddy longlegs spider!

#spiders   #arachnids
This above orange-and-yellow daddy longlegs spider, Sclerobunus steinmanni, was found in Boulder.

It's stupid that you're not here right now, sitting at a table by yourself using the wifi, or with another person, or around the larger table that seems good for book clubs, or on the couch by the sunny window, or near the stage where apparently some interesting things happen at night; drinking a carefully made beverage like the coffee I get most days or the excellent homemade chai that may be the best my wife or I have ever had; eating the made-to-order breakfast burrito that is so packed with delicious ingredients that it is worth the wait (and there is a bit of a wait for it); enjoying the pleasant and funkily cultivated atmosphere.
