Every chance we visit the city Taix is at the top of our list to dine and they have never disappointed us in 35 years! We love this wonderful restaurant, the food, service, reasonable prices and extraordinary history is a rare and beautiful thing in a city that goes from one fad to the next. You are a gem! Love this place!

Hands down the best french onion soup in Los Angeles, and their Calamari is the best I've ever eaten; its hard to find good Calamari cooked to perfection anywhere. The lounge is a perfect, cozy place to take a date and listen to some jazz music when they have it.

This old world style french restaurant is a staple of the local area. Entrées are anywhere from $15-$30 a plate and are all very filling. I was especially surprised by their draft beer selection, with a Belgian sour ale on tap i was extremely pleased. The menu is varied if seemingly missing some staple french dishes. Overall a very good restaurant with abundant seating and banquet space.

Look if you want minus the bear on the speakers and banksy on the walls and a mustachioed suspender wearing fragile looking man in a flannel and guess jeans to serve you this is not for you. However if you enjoy the finer things in life and know good food and can be bothered to put down your phone and enjoy the company of humans and the dining experience come in. Classic cuisine with classic bourgeoise French atmosphere. They might not have free wifi, they might not cater to you instagraming everything in your life, they might be an institution of LA dining- it really might be you , not everyone else pal. Chances are you are lame, underdressed, and classless. You need to take your silly ass down to a food truck and get yourself a ceviche spring roll - you are a pissant commenting on the doings of your betters. You won't get it, you never will.

Brilliant place. Our waiter had been there for 50 years. Had a lovely 2002 Haut Medoc which was great. Filet Mignon was nice. $150 for wine, two dinners, two soups, salads, and an appetizer. Very good would go back.

I have yet to try their cuisine although the interior is worth visiting if you're looking for ambiance, theme, and small tables for pleasant conversation.

Old world style and prices. Everything I've had here was just like eating somewhere in the French countryside
