“I Have a Dream” Oregon was founded in 1990 to help low income children reach success in school, college and career.
We deliver a proven combination of core services to students: long-term relationships with caring adults, academic and personal/social support services, and creating a “culture of college” within schools and the students’ families.
We believe that, with the right supports, low-income children can overcome significant barriers to education and find success in school, college and career.
We have adopted ten entire classes of 3rd graders since 1990, providing them with our proven core services to help them reach college. In 2010, we took a step in a bold new direction by adopting the entire school of Alder Elementary. This collaborative, shared-cost model brings the best nonprofits together to provide crucial services to low-income Dreamers in Reynolds School District.
