The seed for the arts in University Heights was planted with every artist, gallery, art business and non-profit committed to living or working here. It is more than a hundred musicians, writers, dancers, filmmakers and visual artists. It is the U.B. Anderson Gallery, Catherine Parker Artists Salon and Queen City Bookstore. It is Queen City Imaging, The Caribbean Extravaganza Steel Drum Band, and Gruvology. Support the talent in your own neighborhood.

The arts are not well served when non-artists have more control over the creative process than an organized group of artisans and art professionals who have not only demonstrated their successes implementing art but also live or work in the geographical area where it exists. Who better than a group of resident arts professionals to design and implement public arts programs by drawing from their own resources first then knowing best where to invite from beyond their community to fill in gaps and integrate with surrounding areas. An organized arts community begins with its own voice then collaborates of its own volition with integrity.
