Field trips to live theater enhance literary knowledge, tolerance, and empathy among students, according to a study. The research team found that reading and watching movies of Hamlet and A Christmas Carol could not account for the increase in knowledge experienced by students who attended live performances of the plays. Students who attended live performances of the play also scored higher on the study's tolerance measure than the control group ...

What are your favorites SQL quick references? It appears I will will need to relearn this for SQL Server 2010 database. I haven't done straight SQL scripting since 2002 or 2003, though I have done some dabbling in SQL Server 2005 and 2008 since then.

I might be helping with data warehouse testing....so I would need to create my own queries and then compare the results between the data warehouse and the other applications that maintain both shared and stand alone data.... so normally your answer would be correct for Dev work. :)

Did you know that Usability testing has full theorems and metrics to back it up. It is kind of cool that I now have some real data to back up my gut instinct of smaller groups and more testing sessions and adding a later larger group to run a specific User Experience testing session.

I just started my research for what we want to use for this project, and have only started delving into 2 of the major philosophies about it. .

I thought of the Galaxy Song the entire time I read this. Monty Python may have been more right than they knew.

I have read 3 versions of this story. What about the non-quote enclosed bath salts? The articles make a point to specify the drug called "bath salts" at the beginning but they don't use the quotes for the bath salts ban at the end. This makes it unclear what they will target.

What about people with psoriasis or other skin conditions or legal home businesses that buy 50 and 100lb bags of Dead Sea Salts to make their own skin care products...would that now be considered a banned item? Are all of the body care stores going to be nailed too?

"Bath and Body Works raid tonight, Frank. Gonna be a doozy, just avoid the pomegranate body butter in the left side of the door when first go through. That's a one way ticket to the scent counter."
Selling or manufacturing synthetic drugs known as "bath salts" would be illegal in Colorado under a bill in consideration at the state Legislature.

Magic abounds 'neath the shimmering midsummer moon in this timeless classic. True love tumbles and bumbles in Shakespeare's most popular and beloved comedy. When a domestic dispute between the king and the queen of the fairies creates chaos in an enchanted forest, mischievous imps, ...

Trying to decide which cable modem to buy to work with Comcast. DSL in Denver is sucking so bad that we are switching. I am looking at the Zoom Model: 5341J with DOCSIS 3.0. But the Motorola Surfboard SB6121 (also DOCSIS 3.0) have about the same ratio of failures (8-10%) based on 1 star reviews... though most of those consisted of something along the lines of "plugged it in and it didn't work right away, so I returned it and got the one through [cable-company-name] or some other brand highly rated and it worked without hassle".

I was always a fan of old Zoom modems because you could regularly upgrade the firmware to get more life out of them. And the Motorola Surfboard is hard to kill with a hammer as long as yours didn't arrive DOA and have to be replaced right away. What is everyone else using with Comcast in Colorado?

"...if not appeased with a 20 percent increase in Google Chrome downloads by the vernal equinox, we will take back our generous gift unto mankind of Colored Conversation Labeling."

Please oh great and terrible Google, I only have so many computers I can download to Chrome to and vernal Equinox is so close....would the blood sacrifice of an iPad do instead? (Oh that is spendy though.) What about a dozen Nokia Windows phone sacrifices? Maybe we could burn a patent effigy in your honor?
According to The Onion, Google reportedly shut down its Gmail servers for almost two hours today. Maybe the company is getting tired of its 'nice guy' image?

"I downloaded the PDFs of TurboTax returns that were publicly accessible over Google, and that's it," he responded. "And due to the downloading of the PDFs, I had access to the bank account information, Social Security numbers, names, and all of that."

Uh what!?!?!?!?! Glad I have never used TurboTax....
