The President has talked a lot this week about the "Diversity Visa Program". My most recent blog post explains the details of this program, signed into law by George H.W. Bush in 1990.https://albanyimmigrationblog.meyersandmeyers.com/2017/11/03/what-is-this-diversity-visa-program-that-president-trump-is-talking-about/

I was recently interviewed by the Post Star regarding the ICE raids earlier this summer in Saratoga Springs. The information was used in an eye-opening four-part series about the life of immigrants in the Saratoga and Glens Falls areas. This article is the last of the series.

This year more than ever, we are looking forward to our favorite event of the Saratoga horse racing season : "Vision", held to benefit Saratoga EOC's Latino Community Advocacy Program.
The black and white photography display is called “Estamos Aquí” (We are Here) and is a curated exhibit and ongoing project in which Latino immigrants document their everyday lives and present their own photographs in order to share their experiences of living and working in the Saratoga Springs area.

There are not enough U.S. workers with advanced skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematical occupations (i.e., STEM fields) to perform the work that many high-tech companies need. This shortage of skilled labor has forced many companies to out-source their operations abroad, something I see clients of mine struggling with every day.http://albanyimmigrationblog.meyersandmeyers.com/2017/04/25/h-1b-filing-season-come-and-gone-the-economics-of-immigration

On January 17, 2017, the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) published a final rule to improve the ability of certain alien start-up founders to begin growing their companies within the United States and help improve our nation’s economy through increased capital spending, innovation and job creation. The details are in my latest blog post:

We were thrilled to see that the YMCA offers a program like this to help refugee children begin their new lives in the U.S. and get some childhood experiences they never got due to poverty, war, and persecution.
