I am designing the mechanics for steampunk fairy wings. The rotational momentum from a motor must be converted to linear momentum in opposite directions to enable flapping. Is there a resource for purchasing working gears and other mechanisms?

Also the angle of rotation of the formular ;( 2* pi * r)=( @/360* 2*pi*R). Where @ stands for angle of deflection of the wings, r and R both stands for the center distance of the pin to the center of the pulleys for the small and big pulleys reapstively.

I am searching for wire about as thick as a pencil that can be bent with hand tools and joined with solder. The wire will be for sculpting various structures. Does anyone have a recommendation?

I am working on moving fairy wings for Maker Faire. How would I drive a servo using a Gemma or Trinket?

Have you considered making a Murphy bed or a bed that slides under a platform? I am considering options to reclaim space in my daughter's room.

+Becky Stern I agree with you about not wanting to wear a watch. The Moto 360 would look nice inside a pocket watch instead. A wire could piggyback along the chain for an external battery.

This is such a simple way to add originality to a jacket using simple electronics.

The movement is closer to a fish and the craft does not stir a cloud of dust while at the bottom. At one point, a school of fish circled it.

Thanks for the idea. I was contemplating a lever on my workbench to lower a set of casters but I could not envision the mechanism. I will use a system similar to yours.

Would the audio output on the Gameduino 2 be able to replace the wave shield? I would like a display but need to reclaim some pins.
