Randonneuring is a lot like ultrarunning.
I started randonneuring because I wanted to see what the distances beyond 100 miles held for me. I hoped randonneuring would make me fitter and stronger, and help me see new places. What I did not …

Fun challenge, by bike or by foot!
After I rekindled my interest in running marathons, I began to seek out ways to incorporate additional mileage on my two feet. Since Felkerino and I spend much of our weekend time together on the b…

Have you begun your Coffeneuring quest?
It all starts October 3. You are ready. Are you shaking your head saying those rules are too long, too numerous? Shake off your skepticism, friend, and dip your front wheel into the Coffeeneuring C...

God doesn't take things away to be cruel. He takes things away to make room for other things. He takes things away to lighten us. He takes things away so we can fly. -- Pat Summitt Everybody has something in life that makes them feel like they can fly. For me, that moment happens on a bike.

This woman knows how to put EVERYTHING an athlete has experienced into words. You will recognize yourself in this.
I find myself wishing that I had kept up with blogging these last two months, for myself, to have all this shit written down somewhere in a permanent fashion. Last summer it was helping me to write my way through, but now I understand what it's like to be completely exhausted by my own story.

Smart thoughts on NOT pushing through your workouts as you rehab.
Chop wood and carry water, is how I loosely tied it into our anniversary celebration. And I'll chalk it up to whatever ironies there are in the world that the day I unboxed it and ran with it for the first time was the last time I would run - or really, exist - without pain, for a while.

We heart West Virginia. White Grass Ski area is one of our favorite places on earth. Snowshoe, take a cross country ski lesson, and soak up the Vitamin D.

For someone who doesn’t own a car, I do like driving. There’s nothing I like more than a long road trip, especially one out west. Over the summer, I flew out to Colorado and then spent a week driving around, taking in hip Denver neighborhoods, the majesty of Rocky Mountain National Park and the wide …

Funny and good points!
Whenever conversations about bike helmets begin, controversy is seldom far behind. Today I'd like to take an opportunity to redirect the conventional helmet discussion and instead explore its versa...

Story
Tagline
I run ultras, cook obsessively and experimentally, bike commute frequently and blather randomly.
Introduction
I run, mostly trails, not too fast. I live for technical downhills, biking in the city and just being in motion in general. I have a passion for cooking which I indulge often. Some might say obsessively. I'm a novice gardener. I ought to be reading more good literature. Did I mention I like eating?
