Remembering Lauren Feder, MD
"She was a mother inspired by the love for her children and husband to minister to other families, and she sought wisdom and strength for her work from the Great Mother of the Great Physician. Her unflappable courage, commitment to kindness and quiet strength… Lauren didn’t just live with grace in both worlds of medicine, she walked in grace between both worlds of human and spirit."

Malala’s Nobel Prize And The Question Of Children’s Rights

“I love Malala, but the Nobel Committee’s phrasing undermines children’s rights.” – Peter Gray, author of Free To Learn
My only objection concerning this award—and it is a big one—lies in the Nobel Committee’s statement, “Children must go to school.” This statement—embedded in a declaration supposedly honoring the rights of children—unintentionally reveals the Committee’s, and the world’s, lack of respect for children’s rights. Sadly, we see statements like this regularly.

How To Bore The Children, by Charles Eisenstein
"Boredom, in fact, is a very recent word, apparently not having appeared in print until the mid-19th century. It is not a natural state, and did not exist in state of nature, or in a state anywhere near nature. It is a symptom of our alienation."
