The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback is Coming Soon

Compact car buyers who love the bowtie brand are sure to be excited about the arrival of the #2017ChevroletCruzeHatchback. For years, drivers in Florence and Cincinnati have enjoyed the affordable price tag, composed performance, and impressively well-appointed cabin of the #ChevroletCruze sedan http://www.tomgill.com/new-vehicles/cruze/. Now, it’s being redesigned to make it even more competitive in the segment, and it’s bringing a 5-door hatchback model to the equation.

We don’t yet know everything about the all-new Chevrolet hatchback, but based on what we’ve seen from its unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show, there’s more than just a little bit to be excited about, beginning with performance.

Like the sedan rendition of the all-new Chevrolet Cruze, it looks like the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback will be available with a single engine option under the hood. Likely to be paired to a six-speed manual or six-speed HydraMatic automatic transmission, it appears that it will have an output of 153 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. In addition to those competitive performance numbers from this compact hatch, you can expect exemplary fuel economy as well at around 40 mpg highway.

Another perk to owning a hatchback is enjoying the practical versatility of both comfortable seating for passengers and lots of room for cargo. The new Cruze Hatchback will seat up to five people, while the rear seat folds down to reveal a generous maximum cargo capacity of around 42 cubic feet. That’s a strong number for the segment, and plenty of room for a couple of people to head out on a big trip!

The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback is projected to arrive at dealerships sometime later in 2016. While we don’t yet have an exact arrival date, we can’t wait to show it to our clients throughout the Cincinnati area at #TomGillChevrolet. Contact us (http://www.tomgill.com/contact-us/) for the latest information, or stop by 7830 Commerce Dr. in #Florence, KY to test drive the #2016 #Chevrolet #Cruze sedan to get a feel for what the hatchback will be like.

The Chevrolet Silverado Special Ops Edition Promises Even More Excitement

Pickup truck drivers in Florence and Cincinnati have one more reason to be excited this year. Coming off the recent design upgrade to the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado (http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-silverado-1500/), General Motors has announced that it is introducing a production model of a concept model that got a lot of buzz at various auto shows over the past year. Based on the high-performance Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71, the Chevrolet Silverado Special Ops Edition will be getting a limited run of road-ready models next year. GM has announced that some of the proceeds from the limited-run production of the #SpecialOps edition of the Silverado will go directly to the #Navy #SEAL Museum in Florida.

As we already said, the #2016ChevroletSilveradoSpecialOps takes its cues from the Silverado Z71, which means you can expect muscular squared off lines on the front grille and high-strength, durable steel throughout. There are some exciting things that set this model apart, though.

If the #ProductionModel is anything like the concept, you can expect an exclusive three-tone paint job called Razzle Dazzle. This matte finished paint gives the model a Navy-inspired camo look befitting its name. Look for six-inch LED headlights and a sports bar mounted into the front of the bed, with “Special Ops” branding. Also look for this model to ride on five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels and off-road ready tires for a truly imposing presence. Inside the cabin, look for the Silverado Special Ops to come treated with stylish orange accents throughout, while a camo dashboard and waterproof seat covers add to the theme.

We don’t know if the production model of the #SilveradoSpecialOps will look exactly like its concept counterpart, and likewise we can’t be exactly sure what will make it move. However, inspired by its Silverado 1500 counterpart, we would expect it to sport the most powerful engine in this lineup. If that’s the case, we can look for this pickup to sport a 6.2L V8 engine that serves up 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque and can tow up to 12,000 pounds. Of course, we’ll have to wait for the direct information from Chevy to be sure.

Chevy has stated that there will be a limited run of these models available, and we are waiting on word about where those will go. In the meantime, make sure to check out the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, which is in stock now here at Tom Gill Chevy at 7830 Commerce Dr. in Florence, KY. While you're here you can also find out more about the upcoming release. We're just a short drive from #Cincinnati, so stop in today, and if you have questions, you can always contact us (http://www.tomgill.com/contact-us/) directly as well!

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt is Green Car of the Year

#GeneralMotors went all in on the redesign of the #2016ChevroletVolt (http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-volt/). Thanks to its sleek design, more energy-dense batteries, and new electric motors, it earned the designation of being the “2016 Green Car of the Year” at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. This plug-in #hybrid has vastly improved in almost every department, helping it to beat out signature models like the Toyota Prius and Honda Civic.

Powering the 2016 Chevrolet Volt are a pair of new #electric motors that pump out 149 hp. The electric motors run on an 18.4 kWh lithium-ion batter pack that is packed with dense power. There’s also a 1.5L four-cylinder engine that acts as a backup generator for the electric motor so that you can keep driving for longer distances.

Additionally, the Chevrolet #Volt boasts increased driving distances, up to an EPA-estimated 53-mile all electric range and a total driving range of around 420 miles. According to the EPA, fuel #economy on the Chevrolet Volt is simply stellar. When you combine the all-electric driving range with the efficient generation of the combustion engine, you get an estimated 102 MPGe. Once the electric motors have run out of power, the combustion engine alone still achieves an estimated 43 mpg city and 42 mpg highway.

Better yet, the 2016 Chevrolet #Volt features a sporty new design with more muscular lines, as well as a cabin that comes with an intuitive new #touchscreen interface and a host of advanced #technology. Topping it off is an MSRP from just $33,170, which could come in as low as $25,670 when you use an available $7,500 federal tax credit.

2016 Chevy Volt Powertrain Named on Ward's Best Engines

Green driving has come a long way in recent years; all it takes is one look around #Florence to see the number of hybrid and alternative fuel #Chevy models. Like the #2016ChevyVolt, which recently had the honor of making the Ward's Best Engines nominations list. http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-volt/

Under the hood of the #2016Volt is a 1.5L four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, and that electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack lets Volt drivers choose between driving in the all-electric “EV” mode or letting the fuel tank open up for a longer drive.

The new Volt has a 50-mile EV range—more than enough for the average driver's daily commute—and if you need to head on a longer trip, it can go as far as 420 miles before needing a fill-up or a charge.

The engine is just one piece of the Volt's impressive whole. Bluetooth for phone and audio, as well as OnStar telematics, come standard. The Chevy MyLink system not only provides a touchscreen interface for #tech features, it also delivers voice controls so you never need to take your hands from the wheel.

Enhanced safety feature packages and luxury upgrades—such as #premium leather upholstery and heated front seating—make it easy to customize the Volt to fit your individual needs. The available navigation system can even pinpoint charging stations while out and abut to cut back on fuel consumption.

For a bit of perspective, the Volt's unique engine was nominated alongside engines such as the Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang's 5.2L V8 and the Ram 1500 turbodiesel V6. It's being placed among the most fuel-efficient as well, such as the 2016 Honda Civic's new #turbocharged four-cylinder. In short, the Chevy engine is among some of the best new powertrains on the road.

If you want to learn more about the 2016 #Chevrolet Volt or take one for a test drive, visit #TomGillChevrolet at 7830 Commerce Drive in Florence, KY. http://www.tomgill.com/cities/chevrolet-dealer-near-florence/  We'll be happy to put you behind the wheel of a new #Volt so that you can see it in action.

The Camaro and Colorado are the Motor Trend Car and Truck of the Year

There are more reasons than ever to get excited about the lineup of new #Chevrolet vehicles (http://www.tomgill.com/new-vehicles/), especially because it currently includes both the #2016MotorTrendTruckoftheYear and the 2016 Motor Trend Car of the Year.

Winner of the Truck of the Year award, the #2016ChevroletColorado (http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-colorado/) has received major praise for its affordable starting price of just $20,120. Meanwhile, its powertrain lineup boasts a new turbodiesel engine that delivers outstanding fuel economy and performance capabilities.

In fact, the 2.8L DURAMAX turbodiesel inline-four achieves 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, and it accomplishes the best fuel economy of any pickup truck on the road with an EPA-estimated 31 mpg highway and 22 mpg city. Towing capacity hasn’t yet been released for this powertrain, but when equipped with an available V6, the Colorado can tow up to 7000 pounds. Other highlights include a standard rearview camera, available off-road suspension, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

On the other end of the automotive spectrum is the #2016ChevroletCamaro (http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-camaro/), winner of the Motor Trend Car of the Year Award. Fully redesigned this year, the Chevrolet Camaro builds upon its muscle car tradition while catapulting into the future with a sophisticated lineup of more high-performance engines, a lighter frame, and more creature comforts inside the cabin.

You can expect significant improvements in fuel economy from the Camaro’s #turbocharged 2.0L inline-four, which pumps out a confident 275 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Maximum power comes from a 6.2L V8 that delivers an uncompromising 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. Highlights are profuse inside the cabin and include #Android Auto, #Apple CarPlay, heated leather seats and steering wheel, and advanced safety features like rear cross traffic alerts, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning.

Whether you’re ready to get on the track and show off your pony or haul some serious cargo in a midsize pickup that defies convention, you’re set with either the 2016 Chevrolet #Camaro or Colorado. You’ll find both models on sale now at #TomGillChevrolet in #Florence , KY.

2016 Chevrolet COPO Camaro
Drivers in #Florence and Cincinnati are getting excited about the release of the redesigned #2016ChevroletCamaro (http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-camaro/), and now the buzz is getting even louder. General Motors recently showcased the 2016 COPO Camaro at the 2015 #SEMA Show, and it was a serious crowd pleaser.
Don’t expect to drive it on streets, though. The #COPOCamaro is an all-new drag racing rendition of the classic American muscle car. Using the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro as its foundation, the COPO Camaro is lighter and more rigid than past versions of the drag racer, featuring a structure that’s 28 percent stronger than the last rendition. Like the road-ready 2016 Chevrolet Camaros, the COPO version delivers revised front and rear styling, a lower roof for stronger aerodynamics, and a shorter wheelbase that helps reduce curb weight.
It looks like there will be just 69 versions of the 2016 Chevy COPO #Camaro made, each of which will be eligible to take part in the NHRA Stock Eliminator and Super Stock Eliminator races.
For those of us who aren’t on the drag racing circuit, though, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro’s impending release date provides a whole different reason for excitement. The newest Camaro promises serious updates to handling thanks to an all-new chassis. It also features a group of more powerful and more fuel-efficient engines.
To start, the new 2.0L #turbocharged inline-four will make an impressive 275 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Perhaps even more impressive, though, is the fact that Chevrolet says it will be able to get over 30 mpg highway. An upgraded version of the new 3.6L V6 will also be available, getting up to 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the 6.2L V8 engine also increases #performance, moving up to a robust and balanced 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.
Find out more about the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro release, and gush over the COPO Camaro drag racer at #TomGillChevrolet, your #Cincinnati-area #Chevrolet dealer at 7830 Commerce Dr. in Florence, KY (http://www.tomgill.com/cities/chevrolet-dealer-near-florence/).

The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Gets a Diesel Engine

The #ChevroletColorado is getting an upgrade! The best-selling midsize pickup is getting a new engine option for the 2016 model year (http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-colorado/). The new engine choice will be a 2.8L Duramax four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which will be available on the LT and Z71 models. It gets 181 hp and an impressive 369 lb-ft of torque, which is great for hauling and is a competent amount of power for a diesel engine of this size.

The power is delivered to the engine with a smooth and strong force, and it's quieter and more complacent in terms of noise than many other diesel engines--the intake whooshing that's a part of many diesels is almost nonexistent. There's also very little turbo lag, meaning you'll get the extra power you need when you need it with no delay.

On a basic road, the responsiveness of the engine is remarkably smooth for a powertrain of this size. The Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber dampens the vibrations easily, which means you'll have a particularly smooth ride that will keep rumble from the engine to a minimum.

The transmission is a six-speed automatic, and it shifts smoothly and easily. Even with the size of the Colorado, the handling is highly maneuverable thanks to the careful steering tuning. You'll also get a torque system that works well to let you handle on sand, mud, or any other terrain. The low-speed hill control feature is also a plus, slowing the Colorado on long grade hills without juddering or shaking.

The diesel engine is Chevrolet's cleanest diesel ever made, and one of the cleanest ones on the market. It reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by using a specialized exhaust gas recirculation system, and it has gone through extensive durability testing the same way as larger diesels have.

To schedule a test drive of any Chevy vehicle, call us at (855) 977-0189 to come see us at 7830 Commerce Dr. in Florence or contact #TomGillChevy online today: http://www.tomgill.com/contact-us/

Customize Your 2016 Chevrolet Camaro with Specialized Performance Parts
Performance is the name of the game when it comes to the #2016ChevroletCamaro (http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-camaro/), and even more so now that you have the ability to customize your Camaro with parts geared toward performance enhancement. Chevrolet has introduced a line of parts and accessories specifically for this iteration of the #Camaro, ranging from engine components to various suspension and appearance upgrades.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS with the LT1 6.2L V8 engine, as well as the Camaro LT with the 3.6L V6, can be equipped with engine enhancers, while these and other models have other performance optimizers available as well. Axle-back exhaust kits aim to increase #performance and improve sound on V8 and V6 Camaros, for example. And LT1 Camaro SS models can receive performance air intake to improve airflow for better engine breathing.

Meanwhile, four different suspension-lowering kits are being offered for the LT and SS Camaros, as well as incorporated rear coil springs and tuned struts and shocks. These kits not only decrease ride height, but they also lower the center of gravity, helping to improve handling without compromising ride #quality.

Specialized brake parts can also help to improve the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro’s performance. A Brembo four-piston front brake package is available for Camaro LT models fitted with the 2.0L #turbocharged engine and the 3.6L V6. To improve braking even further, a six-piston Brembo front brake package is offered, complete with read mono block aluminum calipers and performance pads.

Beyond performance, #Chevrolet has introduced a variety of accessories to make the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro even more attractive. These include three distinct aluminum wheel styles, grille kits with body-colored inserts, and a rear spoiler. Four exterior graphic packages are also available, such as rally stripes and front fender “hash” marks.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is slated to go on sale this fall at #TomGillChevrolet. Keep in touch with the dealership to learn more and stay in the know about its release: http://www.tomgill.com/contact-us/.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Performance is Set to Impress

The #2016ChevroletCamaro performance specs were recently released, and the numbers reveal that this will be one of the strongest, fastest, and most finely tuned Camaros ever built. If you prefer a car that can jump out of the starting line like a rocket and burn up the pavement beneath it, the forthcoming Chevy Camaro should have you excited (http://www.tomgill.com/models/2016-chevrolet-camaro/).

Three distinct engine options will be available on this classic American muscle car, beginning with the new turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine, which puts out a commanding 275 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. That will be enough to push the car from zero to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds and cover a quarter mile in a lean 14.0 seconds, while also promising impressive fuel economy for a vehicle in this class.

Next up is a 3.6L V6 that has been tweaked to increase its output up to 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque. The zero to 60 mph time improves to 5.2 seconds, and the quarter mile sprint takes just 13.7 seconds. Chevrolet utilized a similar engine in the 2010 Chevy Camaro and quarter miles times were clocked at 14.5 seconds.

At the top of the engine lineup is a 6.2L V8 that is powerful enough pump out a commanding 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. Expect serious speed from this model, with a drop in zero to 60 mph times to just 4.0 seconds and quarter mile times to 12.3 seconds.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro performance specs reveal that each of these engines is an upgrade over the comparable current equivalent. That is in part because of powertrain improvements, but just as important is the car's underlying architecture. The Camaro will now ride on a Cadillac-inspired frame that is over 200 pounds lighter than the outgoing Camaro. So not only does it have more power, but it also has less overall weight to keep it from propelling down the road.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro should begin arriving at dealership early in 2016. When it roars onto the scene it will be a worthy competitor to a number of the other iconic muscle cars currently on the market. Find out more about the upcoming 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Release by visiting #TomGillChevrolet at 7830 Commerce Drive in Florence, KY (http://www.tomgill.com/cities/chevrolet-dealer-near-florence/).

Chevrolet Adds Android Auto to 2016 Models

From its OnStar telematics with emergency roadside assistance and 4G LTE Wi-Fi capabilities to advanced driver assist features like lane departure warning and blind-spot monitoring, Chevrolet has proven itself to be one of the most competitive automakers in the industry when it comes to providing customers with cutting edge, state of the art technologies for increased safety, entertainment, and convenience. Now, that list is about to get even longer, with an upcoming #AndroidAuto update in the works.

#Chevrolet had already announced that their vehicles linked up with a seven-inch MyLink infotainment system would be fitted with #Android Auto and #AppleCarPlay, giving more drivers and passengers easy access to the features they want. Originally, this meant drivers with eight-inch MyLink touchscreens would be out of luck when it came do Android Auto, though that system was set to be equipped with Apple CarPlay.

Now, Chevy has announced its engineers have done the hard work of making it possible for the eight-inch MyLink system to also be equipped with Android Auto, meaning buyers will no longer have to compromise between getting the infotainment display they desire and enjoying the benefits of smartphone app compatibility.

Much like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto makes enjoying media easier by integrating your favorite smartphone apps into a simple, easily navigable display on your MyLink touchscreen, allowing you to control your smartphone without looking down at the screen.

While this is an exciting new development, it won’t happen automatically. Chevy is working hard with local dealerships to ensure easy deployment and installment of Android Auto on a wide range of 2016 Chevy models (http://www.tomgill.com/new-vehicles/). In order to have the system installed, individuals will need to stop into their Chevy dealership.

Find out more about the Android Auto and how to have it installed at #TomGillChevrolet, your certified Chevy dealer at 7830 Commerce Drive in #Florence, KY. Please give us a call with any questions about Android Auto, #Apple CarPlay, or connecting your #smartphone to your Chevrolet (http://www.tomgill.com/contact-us/).
