Dr. Cohen is an excellent surgeon. If you want a gifted surgeon that knows what he’s doing when it comes to trying to protect your facial features, he’s the one. I had a substantial amount of cancer removed from my nose. It required taking cartilage from my ear, using it to replace missing structure and then using a skin graft to get it to look as near as can be possible normal. He succeeded. Dr. Cohen has preformed two additional surgeries on my ears and the outcomes were as good. His staff really cares about the patient. Again, he is an excellent surgeon

Dr. Cohen is absolutely incredible with his knowledge of Mohs. I have had quite a bit of work done and would trust no one but him. His follow-up care is very professional and personal. He goes out of his way to make sure that you are happy with the results. His work is incredible and meticulous. He is very easy to talk to and does listen to any concerns you might have. I feel very fortunate that I found his office (through my doctor's recommendation).

I have been a patient of Dr. Contreras for a while now and he and his staff have always made me comfortable. I often joked about being an "annuity" for a dermatologist so they had better take good care of me as I have had multiple skin cancers as well as a chronic skin condition. A recent biopsy on a small lesion on my nose was identified as a basal cell carcinoma. Unfortunately, I had undergone MOHS surgery in another practice a couple of years earlier in the exact location and this was a recurrent tumor. Dr. Contreras referred me to his partner at About Skin, Dr. Joel Cohen for MOHS. I met Dr.Cohen in early summer and together, we discussed the diagnosis, treatment and outcome and most importantly agreed upon a timeline that would allow me to enjoy the majority of my summer in the pool with the grandkids. About 10 days ago I had the surgery done in the Swedish Medical Office building location. The procedure was scheduled later in the day and ended up being there for close to 5 hours due to the fact that it required four excisions before he could come to me with confidence stating that the margins were clear on any sign of tumor. Now the fun began as I had a significant hole in my nose and thought to myself no way can he bring this thing together without a skin graft. Dr. Cohen was fantastic and truly an artist in reconstructing my nose. I initially had a significant amount of swelling and bruising but less than 2 weeks later after having my sutures removed I am amazed at how good my nose looks and NO SKIN GRAFT! I want to thank Dr. Cohen and his staff for there fantastic care. Maria, your administration of my local anesthetic was the best ever you have quite a touch and Michael, your willingness to explain everything and deliver post-op instructions was the best. All in all I want to say that I believe I have found my comfort zone in the derm community with About Skin Dermatology and I want to thank both Dr. Contreras and Dr. Cohen for their most excellent care and a special thanks to the back office team for their supporting role!

Terrible. I went to get a very expensive chemical peel. You would think that they would at least be kind in the office. But not only was the office workers rude, but the doctor was aggressive, insulting, and just terrible to work with. Trust me, there are a thousand other places in Colorado which do better work and dont treat you like crap. Especially avoid Dr. Cohen - just terrible.

My name is Sharon Steigers, and I live in Littleton, Colorado. Ten years ago during a routine checkup my primary care physician noticed an irregularity in my skin on the left side of the bridge of my nose. Dr. Joel Cohen was one of the specialist doctors she recommended that I see for a more detailed evaluation. Fortunately for me, Dr. Cohen’s office made me a priority and was able to promptly get me in for an evaluation. From the first appointment I had with Dr. Cohen, he was and has continued to be fully focused on my situation and on me as a person. Dr. Cohen demonstrated an extremely high level of competence and professionalism, and he is very thorough and knowledgeable regarding all aspects of skin cancers. Dr. Cohen confirmed that the irregularity on my nose was basal cell carcinoma. I was promptly scheduled for Mohs surgery, which Dr. Cohen personally performed. The cancer being on my face, it was a delicate situation. Dr. Cohen performed the surgery very skillfully, removing only the material that was necessary and leaving all normal tissue intact. I am very pleased with the resulting look. I have found that through Dr. Cohen and his professional practice I now have access to state of the art medical and cosmetic procedures and skin care products. Though I started out as an anxious patient with skin cancer, Dr. Cohen addressed that. Since that time, Dr. Cohen’s practice has allowed me to confidently move ahead with advanced skin care and prevention practices that not only help protect me from future cancer but have improved the overall condition of the skin on my face and neck. This has allowed me to relax in the confidence and knowledge that there is no one better qualified to advise me on how to care for my skin than Dr. Cohen and his staff. I have always found Dr. Cohen and his entire staff to be fully focused on me, prepared, thoughtful, helpful, highly competent, extremely knowledgeable, and, oh yes, genuinely kind. I have full confidence in Dr. Cohen and his entire team at About Skin Dermatology. They have my highest recommendation and gratitude.

Dr. Cohen and his staff are a remarkable blend of highly skilled technical competency, insight, compassion, and genuine friendliness. Dr. Cohen performed a particularly difficult surgery for me. In spite of the large area involved, the final scaring was virtually unnoticeable. In spite of the arduous six hours for the procedure, Dr. Cohen and his medical assistants remained wonderfully patient, reassuring and friendly. My wife and I have been very blessed in our lives, and the wonderful people at About Skin Dermatology have added to those blessings in so many ways. Thank you Drs. Cohen and Stoler, and to the many friendly staff (such as Michael)! You change lives!

Are these other reviewers kidding? AboutSkin is a fantastic group of doctors and staff. I've been going there for 3 years. My two daughters go there as well. Do you think I would trust my children to anyone but the best? AboutSkin has always taken wonderful care of all of us. Dr. Cohen saved my life after being diagnosed with Melanoma. He's a surgical artist. Dr. Contreras is terrific in diagnosis and treatment. They ALWAYS take their time with me and answer all my questions in plain english. Only once (and I've been there a lot) have I had to wait over 5 minutes. But I show up on time. AboutSkin was not the 1st Denver dermatology office I've visited but they are the best.

I have been to About Skin Dermatology three times and referred my husband to them as well as a couple of friends. My father is an Oncologist and suggested I see Dr. Cohen however I have never been able to get in with him. The past two times have been a terrible experience, not only for myself but my two other friends and we have all switched dermatologists. I waited three weeks to hear back about a biopsy and it took me calling three times to actually find out what was going on. They told me that my paper work had gotten mixed up...not something you want to hear from your doctor's office. Also, I have tried to get in touch with them twice regarding billing and no one has gotten back to me. If you want to be treated right do not go here. This place is way over hyped and there are other dermatologists out there that will do a much better job.
