I would have expected Japan and Germany in the top list. Maybe they don't express happiness in polls as much as they should!
 
Hard to know how legitimate this is when they say Australia is in Asia.
 
+Laurence Hubbard but Japan has been struggling economically for many years which probably has an impact.

+Jorgen Poulsen The error about Australia at least sparked enough doubt for me to go check Forbes and see if the data were correct.
It is either old data or incorrect.
