Following on from discussing webinars (big web-conferences... you know the ones, and if you don't, do google it) at the LT Forum on Friday, it sounded like many of us are interested in running them. However we do not currently have any platform available institution-wide that can cover many of the things we would like to use webinars for.
David Read has been using Adobe Connect (http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/adobeconnect.edu.html
) and has found it works really well for the needs of the ELTC - he gave a live demo of it working and it left everyone that attended impressed.
So to drum up some support for looking into Adobe Connect, could you fill out this form asking what you'd like to use webinars for? If you know of anyone else who would be interested do please pass it on.
