When you can't get to New York, then you bring New York to you! Veronica and Will recently got engaged in New York, so I decided to bring a little bit of New York to their outdoor engagement session at Harbor East in Baltimore!

The "Cup Magic" app from Starbucks makes me wish I drank Starbucks coffee.

The price of a Starbucks coffee reminds me that I'm glad I don't drink Starbucks coffee.

Would you believe I was about 2 feet away from this critter when I took this shot? Apparently he was more interested in his nut than the nut behind the camera!

In 1911, construction began on what is now known as the Warehime-Myers Mansion, located on Baltimore Street in Hanover. 100 years later, the floors of the Mansion were literary bouncing up and down to the beat and dancing feet of family and friends of Erica and Mike, as they partied it up at their wedding reception. Not kidding -- at one point, there were so many people dancing and jumping on the dance floor just inside the foyer, that I thought the 100-year-old floor was going to give out! It didn't (thankfully), and the evening went off like any great wedding reception should!

Prior to partying it up at the Mansion, Erica and Mike were married at the Sacred Heart Basilica -- another historical location in Hanover, PA -- and personally one of my favorite places in the area. Erica wore a beautiful satin ivory Sottero and Midgley wedding dress from J&B Bridal. Not the original dress she picked out. This was a second dress she selected. As it turned out, Erica and Mike were planning to get married in June 2012, but when they found out that Mike was going to be deployed 3 months prior to their wedding, Erica had to go to plan "B", and quickly. Not only did they need to change their wedding date and venue, but she also had to select a different wedding dress since her first selection wouldn't arrive in time for their December 2011 wedding. No worries, though, as she actually fell in love with her second wedding dress even more than the first one she had selected! So just 6 weeks and 2 days after meeting with Father McNeil at Sacred Heart to move their wedding date 6 months sooner, all of the details fell perfectly into place. For those of you in attendance at their wedding and reception, you too would agree that beautiful weddings and incredible receptions CAN be planned within a short timeframe. Erica, Mike, and their families proved that to be true!

Erica and Mike selected their family and close friends to be their bridesmaids and groomsmen -- Mike asked his four best friends from high school, as well as Erica's brother; Erica asked her two best friends, two cousins, and Mike's sister. The Hanover Area Historical Society, who manages the Mansion, scrambled to assure that all of their Christmas decor was on display. "It was truly stunning! This included garland, decorations, and 30 Christmas trees throughout the house. I was amazed that they pulled it off in just a few days! It was gorgeous!", smiled Erica. Rounding out the wedding vendors that helped make their wedding an A+ event were: Karen Rodkey (cake), Brian & John from 6cents (local band), Mark Bowersox (DJ), Warehime Gourmet (food), Aaron Amspacher (videographer), and of course R. Lawrence Photography (photographer).

Personal note to Erica and Mike: thank you sooooo much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day! It was truly a pleasure to work with such an incredible couple, as well as your awesome family and friends!

The Adobe Photoshop Touch product has certainly piqued my interest. It allows you to do some basic photo editing on your tablet. It's not yet available on the iPad, but when it is, I think I'll definitely be checking it out. It certainly won't even come close to replacing the full-blown Photoshop program, but it could be useful in certain situations. And at under $10, it's worth a look.

It was so great working with Ben this morning! Bonus points that we were able to get onto his football field for some photos of him with his jersey!

A DISASTER! It started out well working with Sam, the estimator ... a very nice man. And then it went from bad to worse to a disaster. The two people that came out to install the fence (who will remain nameless) arrived on the day promised, although they didn't arrive until the end of the day. In what I expected to be a 2-3 day job to install a wood picket fence on a relatively small yard, quickly extended to 4 days, 5 days, 10 days, and eventually 5 weeks. The two people that started on my job, turned into one person. This person started coming to work very late in the day, and then leaving early. Not only was it apparent they had no sense of urgency, but it also became apparent that this guy has a personal issue with controlled substances. Now the job is about 90% finished, and THEY RAN OUT OF FENCING. We hear that they took our last 10 panels of fencing and gave it to a different job because they ran out of fencing on THAT job. Now we sit with a 90% finished job ... for weeks. During this time, the owner of A. L. Fence, Adam, comes out to my yard to look at the work. I expressed my disappointment regarding his company overall, and then it immediately escalates into the OWNER verbally abusing me, and yelling at me, that my neighbors could hear him. I have never been so shocked hearing an owner of a company like this treating his customer like this. So after some significant time has elapsed, the ordered fencing comes in, and they finish the job. I make a payment, but do not pay the entire amount because there was an issue with some of the fencing. A few weeks later, Adam personally charges my credit card for the balance due WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, wreaking havoc with my bank account. To me, it was a fraudulent charge, and against the law. The law states, however, that he was able to do this, which blows my mind. At a minimum, it's a horrible way to conduct business to charge someone's credit cad without their permission. But I guess I should have expected something like this after dealing with him throughout this painful process. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I will never EVER do business with them again, nor will I ever recommend them to ANYONE. If I could give them a negative 5 stars, I would.
