Menu
Since 1998, Taberna de Haro has been serving Boston’s most authentic Spanish food. People come to this little corner on Beacon Street to indulge in shared tapas (small plates), memorable entrees, regional specialties, and over 300 Spanish wines well-suited to the varied menu. They come for a quick nibble and a glass of sherry before the movies. Some settle in for a 2 hour, 2 bottle anniversary celebration. Others show up for the comfort of steak and French fries served with warmth and perfect Rioja. Chef-owner Deborah Hansen spent 8 years thrilled to be living in Spain, and brings that excitement and experience to her native Boston.

2/2010: Returning after many yrs., we find it more romantic than ever, w/ excellent service. Delicious: lentil soup w/ sausage and bacon, grilled Basque sausage w/ brandada (cod, oil, potatoes), pisto (eggplant, peppers, onions, poached egg, my favorite), and magret de pato (roasted duck breast, w/ a weak sherry vinegar reduction & bitter endive that do not enhance the dish). 11/2012: still very good, but patatas bravas were too vinegary.

I previously wrote that Taberna de Haro always disappointed me, however I just went back to try their Tuesday pig roast and it was wonderful. Also good was their eggplant tapas, their main salad, and some kind of fruit dessert. Some of their wines are very reasonable although they tried to steer me to the $65- wines. The staff is pleasant and helpful but the restaurant still has tables packed together and the noise level is fairly high.

I went to this restaurant by the first time with my wife to have dinner. The place is nice, the service was decent, but we really dislike the food. The dish that I ordered was overcooked and my wife's dish was also not good. Maybe what happened is that we experienced a bad day in the restaurant, but now we don't have a good impression about it. Based on that I have no plans to return or recommend.

Extremely overpriced. Food is presented nicely but seems like they are using something I could pick up from shaws for 1/10th of the price and add tobasco sauce to. In addition they made us wait an hour longer than our reservation time and kept telling us "10 more minutes" every 15 minutes.

An older standby, they serve classic tapas here. Patio seating is especially great in the summer.

Just went back to Taberna de Haro in their newly expanded space and really enjoyed it. Truthfully, you'll never find that tapas here taste as good as those in Spain. That being said, the Taberna comes close. Favorites were the chorizo en sidra and the croquetas. Plus, the sangria was delicious!

The food can be hit or miss although never bad. The best items I've had are any grilled seafood (octopus for sure). The 'feisty potatoes' were ok but more chewy than crispy although the spicy sauce was pretty good. Definitely not the best tapas in Boston - Toro tops my list for tapas although at least Taberna de Haro takes reserves! The servers are efficient and friendly. All in all I would return for a nice tapas and a glass of wine.
