Food is great, service is not. My family has eaten here three times, we have had empty glasses every time. It takes forever to get refills. This morning me and my wife went to eat before she went to work. We were standing in line for seven minutes before someone greeted and sat us. After receiving our water it was another thirteen minutes before they tried to take our order. At that point we're standing to leave, it had been to long. We will stick to Westside Cafe on Camp Bowie. Food is just as good of not better and service is top notch. The cinnamon rolls alone aren't enough to go to Ginger Browns.

I feel like I was treated as a second class customer at Ginger Brown's Old Tyme Restaurant on 1/7/2015 because I had a Groupon. The first thing I saw when I came in the door was a chalk board with the daily specials on it and in big bold letters 'NO GROUPON'. Then they sat me at a table directly underneath another professionally printed sign posted on the wall saying 'PLEASE NO GROUPONS'. Next the server told me that I had to have two people dining to use my $20 Groupon. The manager corrected her but gave a laundry list of restrictions and what I'm NOT allowed to buy with the Groupon dollars. Lastly, I asked for a doggie bag for my leftovers, and was loudly refused because I was using a Groupon to pay for my meal. Customers at other tables offered their condolences. Nobody forces a business to offer Groupons. If you don't want to treat us like other customers, then don't offer the Groupons. I have never been treated like that and I've used hundreds of Groupons over the years. It encourages me to seek out places that I would otherwise have never tried. Usually I am pleasantly surprised. Not the case this time. I will never go back to Ginger Brown's and you should be ashamed of yourselves for the bait and switch scheme you are running.

We eat at Ginger Browns at my little girls request about twice a month. She loves their mac and cheese and broccoli. I try to find something not fried, without onions and bell peppers but its hard. I have to say they have the most awesome breakfast, sweet tea and desserts. Their appetizers are huge and worth the money. It is an older crowd but most of them have been going there for years! I love the Christian atmosphere, Lulus Bingo on Monday night is so much fun and while I would say I agree that the service has become quite an issue, its hit or miss. They know us, have watched my little girl grow up so its like seeing good friends as family when we go. And to all those complaining about the smoking...Its all NON SMOKING give it a try!!!

Nothing like some good simple but great tasting food like how I remember my grandmother making it. No loud rowdy music or anything crazy. Simple and nice goes away. I'll be visiting again quite often.

If you're not already a regular, it won't make sense to you. The food is awful. Appetizers are way too big to the point of gross. This is standard, box mix, Sysco foods, Betty Crocker recipe crap that you find in truck stops and institutional cafeterias. Good for a generation of boomer women that just barely learned cooking from their mothers after shunning it as a chore when they revolted in the 60's and 70's and played catch-up when they found it's usefulness later, after microwaves were in every kitchen. Location-strip mall. Service-adorable Grandma types and younger southern girls. Lights-florescent. Music-kinda cool, but malfunctioning table jukeboxes. Use them, or the drone of the overworked pie cooler's compressor plus the lights is zombifying.

My wife and I, plus friends, have been attending Monday bingo for several weeks. Service is good as well as the food. Prior to the bingo, waitresses pass out red coupons, one to each customer. The numbers on these cards are called out in random order. The only problem with these coupons is customers can come into the restaurant prior to the bingo and can receive a coupon each time. There are two tables of regular customers who routinely win the majority of the prizes because each person will have at least seven coupons. Since I do not believe this fair we will no longer participate in the bingo. By the way if you bingo you can win a free breakfast, lunch or dinner or if you are really lucky you can win a 10 inch pie. The only drawback is you have a particular date and time to use your win.

Here's the best thing you can say about Ginger Brown's...they demonstrate their heart for Jesus with an awesome staff! I have never had a bad meal there, and every time I have the pleasure of eating their yummy chicken fried steak I wonder why I waited so long!!! My Daddy has always loved sitting in LuLu's section, and just this evening I won a dozen of their delicious cinnamon rolls! Keep showing the love GB....and we will keep singin' your praises!!!
