Have you noticed all of the photographers in our building lately? Photojournalists and architecture buffs (both amateur and professional) have gone viral with images of Philadelphia's most talked about new building: http://ow.ly/r0GvL

Smile for the camera, folks. Gerri C. LeBow Hall sure does look beautiful, but your hard work and academic achievements are what truly make us shine.

Last week, a group of LeBow MBA students from all walks of life spent over a week in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The experience was eye opening. No matter how thoroughly you research a place — no matter how many hours you spend reading a book or a spreadsheet — nothing can prepare you to see the flesh and blood behind the numbers.

Chris Laincz wonders if the Godzilla movies he loved to watch as a kid led to his fascination with all things Japanese. It’s a strong possibility says the Drexel alum who is now an associate professor of economics and the director of the LeBow Ph.D. Program.

Say Laincz on the local impact of the shutdown: "The area around 5th and Market streets relies on tourism for its income. With the closure of the national parks, they will see a drop in business and may cut back hours of some employees. The longer the shutdown persists, particularly for businesses paying the high rent in that area, the more difficult the situation will become for them."

Anthony Joseph Drexel was born on this day in 1826. He was a global financier, a philanthropist and an enthusiastic patron of the arts. In 1891, he founded the Drexel Institute of Art, Science and Industry to teach practical skills for men and women of diverse backgrounds.

Through the years, we have transitioned from an Institute to a University. We have grown from a regional hub to a nationally recognized experiential learning leader. Today, we honor the man who gave us much more than his name.

LeBow utilizes experiential, applied education to develop world-class leaders.
Introduction
LeBow College of Business integrates Drexel University's technological prominence with experience-based education to develop world-class leaders and advance knowledge through research.

The LeBow experience is different from that at other colleges. Drexel University operates on the quarter system, with four quarters per year that are 10 weeks long. One of LeBow's biggest advantages is the world-renowned Drexel Co-op. This co-operative education plan enables students to alternate terms in industry and in the classroom after the freshman year. Co-operative education students usually spend six quarters gaining real-world, professional experience. Most graduate with 18 months of experience on their resumes.
